I just can't understand how him goes through all that hassle and then uses distccknoppix, a VERY outdated livecd, with last version dated from July 3rd 2003?!?!?
Lots of people (as myself) love The Gimp but can't stand the non-MDI thingie. Why is so hard for the developers to add and option for us, poor non-visionaries or the guis?
I find that my biggest compatibility headaches with my colleagues on Red Hat, etc., is that I'm always running newer versions of everything than they are.

WTF? Are you kidding? Knoppix install creates a perfectly working debian system, I have a k6 as my little server out from an hd installed knoppix and works GREAT, I only have to reboot when upgrading the kernel!
And i'm pretty sure it has to be one of the best investments I've done in my life, great piece of hardware.
Mplayer is also great, before having the KiSS I watched all my media with mplayer, but theris claims are, like nearly always, plain stupid.
How they got access to the C code for the comparisons if the ROM is closed source? It's there for download, only a click away of the firmware page!
Mplayer are famous for two main reasons: first, for programming a killer app for linux, and second, for their constant insults to others developers... Have we forgotten the "Joe Barr can't install mplayer"-affaire? A simple google search gives us pearls as "Joe Barr became infamous by writing a less than favorable
