    Amen to that.

I have a Nokia communicator 9210i, and the only reason i bought it was because i could install an ICA-client to it for accessing our servers at work.
But then, the reality sets in. The phone seems to be ok, but after couple of hours when i look at it's display again, i find out that i have missed a call. The phone had been a one meter away from me in a silent room, so i know i that would have heard the ringing if it would have actually ringed. And trust me, this has happened enough times to me so that i can be sure it's a fault in the phone (or it's software, that is) and not my senses.
Also, a couple of times it has just silently powered itself off (once again, phone just sitting on the table with a fully charged battery and nobody touching it).

This is quite bad thing when you think that the actual primary purpose of a phone is to receive or place calls. You should NOT need to be checking your phones display every five minutes just to see if the damn things BSOD'd itself.
I'm curious, has these things happened to someone else with the Commicator line of those phones?

Unfortunately most people have to do (more or less) work to keep the food on the table. So if you anyway have to do it, then why not enjoy while you're at it?
Just because you don't wake up every morning thinking "Damn, i have to go to the office again", it doesn't mean you couldn't enjoy your hard earned vacations when they come.

Oh, and if someone actually prefers his work more than his life, then so what? I mean, he's not hurting anyone while doing it, and he is happy; what's the problem there?

That being said, i do AM waiting for the next vacation myself, but there's still some workaholics i know who might not be ;-)

Another question: Why in the heaven's name are you on the 'net without a fscking firewall??

    From the Microsoft TechNet article:

    Mitigating factors:

    * To exploit this vulnerability, the attacker would require the ability to connect to the Endpoint Mapper running on the target machine. For intranet environments, the Endpoint Mapper would normally be accessible, but for Internet connected machines, the port used by the Endpoint Mapper would normally be blocked by a firewall. In the case where this port is not blocked, or in an intranet configuration, the attacker would not require any additional privileges.

I say it again: No matter what OS you're running, there is bound to be holes in it, and if you keep them open to everyone who wants to knock on your address, then it's your own damn fault.
