The very first time I played the level "Arnhem Knights" in Medal of Honor: Frontline, I was moved to tears. It probably was a combination of the music, gunfire and soldiers dying all over the place but I've never had an experience like that from a FPS before.
I'll also never forget playing "Silent Hill 2," I'm in the old abandoned prison. I was in a bathroom with about 3 or 4 stalls, one of them closed. I "knock" on the closed one and the text on screen said there's no one there. So I knock again, for kicks. Huh, oh well. Start walking away and suddenly a loud BAM BAM BAM from the empty stall. I screamed. Loudly.
There were many other moments in SH2 that freaked me out but none of them gave me that kind of reaction.
The Ratchet & Clank ads are some of the funniest out there. The inflatable dummy on the riding lawn mower run over by the SUV, the rocket launcher that destroys some guy's boat in his backyard, they're just hilarious.
There's a really funny Syphon Filter 2 commercial from way back that was using in-game graphics (but not gameplay footage) of the main character on a train about to shoot some guy. The guy was wondering if he could be shot with something a little less painful so he goes through his arsenal until he comes across the tazer. Zaps the guy and kicks him off the train. I never did play the game but that commercial I found to be quite memorable.
I remember when "Enter the Matrix" was first released (a friend had rented it) and my initial thoughts were that it was a pretty cool game...though I had only played it for about 5 minutes. I went online to try to find reviews and guess what? Couldn't find any. When the reviews did start pouring in they weren't very kind to the game.
I own a few games that have various bugs in them (like GTAVC) but none that will cause the game to freeze or not do what it's supposed to do when I tell it to do it. It's not buggy enough to ruin my enjoyment of it.
It's even more disappointing when a game like Tomb Raider: AOD takes months and months to be released because of all the delays and the product is STILL full of bugs. And yet the game will sell a bazillion copies (like EtM).
I suppose it could be worse, the movie titles on the Atari 2600 were pretty awful.:P

I just sent her a lengthy e-mail about this and I hope other fellow Canadians do the same (just remember to be polite).
