Has anyone noticed that the pricipal colors are blue, green, and purple? As a graphic artist, I can say that these don't really go together very well. So far, the themes included in all the betas have been absolutely hideous, but have slowly been getting better. I'm hoping that Microsoft hires some compitent graphic artists to completely rework the GUI theme before release. Its sad that an OS with so many usuability enhancements as compaired to XP has to be so ugly.
Oh! I have one! I call it "Classic"! By installing and running it on any Mac running OS X, it automantically eats up processor cycles, runs code that was originally written in the 1980's, then maintained for over a decade, becoming slow and unstable along the way, and infects the user with a horrible nostalgia! Give me my $25,000!
Kind of ironic that the first movie to use accurate color capturing digital camera is going to be basically all in black and white, with most things done in CG anyway.
That was caused by air resistance. A drop falling in pressure such as the atmosphere gets destorted, that is why raindrops have that famous teardrop shape. In the lower pressures, the effect is much less.
Probably the best thing about GMail going public is the fact that it puts even more pressure on other free E-Email providers to improve their services. Anyone remember the pre-GMail days? Hotmail and Yahoo both charged to get you over 10 MB, POP3 access was almost NEVER free, and quite often you had to put up with tons of banner adds, popups, end-of-E-Mail footnote adds, and spam kindly sent by your E-Mail provider.
The cheapest way to do this is to add washers or some other absorbant material to all the places where any moving part contacts the case. The problem is most cases and drives are not designed with this extra space in mind, so it can be hard.
Apple plans to show its support by launching high end editing software that 1% of the 10% of Mac users with high end PowerMacs of the 4% Apple market share will use. What an event!
Funny, I switched to Firefox (Firebird when I started) because I couldn't stand the wait for the suite to launch, and the lag between switching applications within it (composer, navigator, ect...).
But the RIAA are greedy bastards. They are going to want to profit out of this somehow too. True, they are scaring the pants off of many file sharers, but in typical corporate fashion, there needs to be money involved too. They must have some plan for getting more cash with less billable legal hours.
Probably just going to be a PC interface that allows you to watch and schedule stuff on a TiVo box on your nextwork. There is too much DRM stuff going on now for them to be able to let you re-encode and copy shows. Also, that nicely competes with Windows XP Media Center, as you could add it onto your machine by simply buying a TiVo, instead of having to buy an OEM MCE machine.
I don't think its too much profit. Lawyers are expensive, especially enough to do volume buisness. Taking someone to court costs them much more than $3000. And for that $3000, you have a weeks long process. I'm betting a single VP goes through more than 5.1 million dollars in buisness lunch martinis in that time.
Why are there always "community efforts" to continue the developement of things nobody wants any more? The reason they stopped is lack of demand. The reason there is no demand is because Firefox and Thunderbird do basically the same thing, with the same engine, but faster, simpler, and better. The Mozilla Suite showed the world that open source could be as good as closed source corporate backed software. But it saw its day, and newer, better things came about.
Amen!
Desktop Linux is a disasterous mishmash of 4,000 people's different ideas of what makes a good GUI. Its going to get worse. That stuff on 3D windowing systems it just going to slow everything down more with stupid effects like writing snakes and shaking links. Ohh, lets not forget windows that are put on sides of a rotating cube. For some reason, everyone uses that for a demo effect.
What about IBM? After all, they are one of the worlds largest companies. Also, they are the leading developer of PowerPC, seeing as they are the designers and one of the only manufacturers of such chips. Don't they use that Linux thingie there too?
This was in the news last year. It is old news, and actually no longer valid. Going to the manufacturer's website, they claim that the projected launch date for mid 2004, and have "projections" for 2003, so I am guessing it hasn't been updated in almost three years. Also, that article was barely intelligible.
How is this a problem? Sure, it may seem severe, but imagine that they were offering all sorts of awsome bargins, but refusing to honor them as expired, yet never taking them down. I would definitely be in favor of slapping them on the hand.

And they failed, sadly. I can't get to their site anymore.
Only if they are ninja assassins.
So it can't processes drawers of composting obsolete computer equiptment? Darn, there goes my solution for worldwide free cheap energy! :P

How do they integrate the extra features without extra buttons?
Also, has anyone ever bought ANY product made by Luxpro? Their website only has digital mockups of their stuff.
Simple, set your screensaver to a picture of a crappy stereo, that way no one would notice!

Yeah, but they were FRENCH!

Just when people DIDN'T need another reason to illegally download things.

What about getting a thumb stylus for a Pocket PC or Palm? You know, like the one that comes with the Nintendo DS.

From 10' away, that is enough DPI to make it look like a continuous image. It is also just right for HDTV.
