the other great thing about debian, in addition to numberless packages:-)) it's its portability... i've got it installed on sparc, powerpc, motorola, intel, just because this i've got. and with almost the same package list and conf files:-))))
not a li'l detail, i think
the security is not in the distro, it's in the man using/installing/configuring it....
maybe. or maybe not, and remain the distro with the best package list at all. and not to going around searching for an application which a user can't compile, or rmpfinding it, and when found, boom! you try to install it and doesn't work....
one of the thing that make debian great is apt-get install whateveryouwantthathaveafreelicense:-))))
enjoy, i say. this is the way, i say too
up debian!
this is pretty different from the action "clik-clik" (read double click) on an icon.... and osx ask you a password whe doing adminitration level things... the same for the su command obviously i can also throw my computer on the floor then cry because the AV didn't work....
i've got a similar device, i carry it on with me almost all the time , and'd it's called *iPod*.
why the cpod? the C made it very fuffy.... (a word that means not very bad but useless...)
talk about it:
even new iron maiden's CD is copy protected. it didn't play in my linux box.
until i copied it with cdrdao on another CD.
then it's ok (the copied thing)
i returned the original CD and bought tne vynil, anyway... do you too. boycott those f[@#ng things, please...
time ago, a friend of mine "crashed" its car cd player with one of those copy protected CD's and it had to change the player. i am not joking.
beware that if you use a local IP range that match public internet IPs, yr locals will no more be able to talk to those public... see that funny post with SCO and the like addresses...:-)
in other news, capt. Dredd of the metropolitan police, said "in near future, policemen will be privided with golden armors, and big guns, and they will have the right to literaly burn out infringing cars. this new generation of policemen will be named 'Judges'. My name will then be Judge Dredd!! I am the Law!"
...while he was looking at pr0ns? LOL
