As I said TerraServer has been doing the same thing Maps.Google.com is doing right now and has been doing so since 1999.
How is that catching up when they were there first?
Both Google and MSN are missing both my 4 year old house, and the buildings I've worked in for almost 2 years in downtown Boston.
Glass houses and rocks don't mix.
Don't get me wrong, I know the Shuttle and more importantly NASA are far from perfect.
The point is, it's what we have right now till the CEV gets here in what we hope will be 2010.
It's still damn impressive, and now that the race for space is open to almost anyone with deep enough pockets, it's only get more exciting.
Well I'll tell you this much the maps Google has for New England are old too.
Hell my house which was built 4 years ago doesn't even make it into either.
Nor does either of the two buildings I work in in DOWNTOWN Boston.
I'm 33 as well.
THis is just as exciting for me as it was day 1, when I first saw Columbia launch.
It was amazing then, its amazing now.
Maybe your life just isn't what is used to be.
I don't know what Radio you listen to, but it's apparent you know little about American radio.
Here in the Northeast, including Boston, Hartford & New York, the radio is mostly Pop hits with a good sprinkling of hard rock. The occasional country, classical and some "easy listening".
Most of the so called "shock jocks" are left wing, not right wing.
As for Australian music, I can only think of two good bands to come out of Australia ever.
The rest is wanna be.
Did you bother to look at the numbers?
If the 75% is such a big deal, and the 8% not so hot, doesn't that make the Mac platform at it's meager 2.5% or so of the computer market even worth typing about, let alone rate a mention?
Vista is including ALL of the above, native. They are only being back ported (not pushed back) to Windows XP and some for 2003 to allow developers to understand the underlaying technologies BEFORE Vista is released.
Yeah gee, its not like XP is a server OS.
It's not like Vista has a bunch of new features added to it well above and beyond the differences that separated Windows NT from Windows Server 2003...
Currently Windows Update Services is out which allows for very good, grandular control of software updates and management, should more control be needed, there is always SMS2003.
No it's not just for Windows. The newer releases of Update Services update all supported software detected on the system, this will include 3rd party applications as well.
If applications follow standard Microsoft development "rules" one would not have to clean up anything, but as usual, people take the shortest and quickest path possible and leave crap all around.
Is it perfect? Nope. But it works well when used properly.
Funny I work in a 15,000 seat company, and we don't have a tough job protecting from malware.
XP SP2? Yep
up to date AV? Yep
Calls per week to the Help Desk for malware? Under 5.
Guess what those people do? Travel a lot with laptops.
Enterprise management is a sinch if you know what you are doing. We manage tens of thousands of desktops, hundreds of servers, all based on MS technologies here and have few issues.
Um, people seem to be leaving a very important part out of this...
And I quote:
"An NIH source says there are no plans to "unseat" Microsoft products, which are widely used throughout HHS."
Actually this isn't true at all. A recent survey showed that of all of America's Christians, over 30% believe that the Bible is factual. Meaning they believe all that in the Bible is the truth and to try to interpret it in any other manner is sinful.
These are the people who start web sites trying to prove Creationalism (or whatever it's called today), and saying that dinosaurs, fossils, and whatnot, as was mentioned before, are all God's joke to temp us into doubting the Bible.
All I have to say to the Fundemenatalists who claim all in the Bible is fact, that if Adam and Eve are the start of the Human race, they had two sons, one which killed the other and then took off. Where the heck did the rest of the Human race come from? I mean we are down to two males, one female, and according to the Bible incest is very wrong. So where did all the people come from? The Bible does not mention any other people, and the Bible is always right correct?
So just where did all the people come from? Maybe we all are not really here...
Actually Intel's implementation of the AMD64 instructions isn't exactly the same.
Intel's implementation (EM64T) is based on an earlier version of the AMD64 instruction set.
Before W2k was out, Microsoft migrated most internal, and everything external to W2k before it was gold.
Before E2k3 was released, Microsoft was running it on all internal servers.
Before W2k3 was released, Microsoft was running it on all internal and external servers.
Before XP was released most workstations were upgraded to it.
Microsoft has always been a very much proponent of "eating your own dog food".
And yes when it goes gold Microsoft moves to that version and it's the same version sold to everyone else.
What do you call 100 Slashdot anti-Microsoft freaks stuck on the moon with no access to the internet? A good start.

Microsoft has been doing this for a LONG time. Much longer than Google. What were you saying now???
I'm 33 as well. THis is just as exciting for me as it was day 1, when I first saw Columbia launch. It was amazing then, its amazing now. Maybe your life just isn't what is used to be.

Microsoft Watch and The Register have both been wrong more often than right when predicting what will and won't make it into any Microsoft product.
1.) MONDAD is already available in beta form for Windows Server 2003. Monad is also in the latest build of Longhorn (well the past 8 builds anyways)
2.) WinFS is not shipping with Longhorn Client, but will be released later.
3.) Avalon is already in Longhorn and has been for about 2 months.
Native, as in it is part of the OS, not a later add on.

WinFS is currently in Alpha testing. Avalon and Indigo are both part of the Longhorn Beta1 due any day now. In fact you can get both of them right here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/longhorn/default.aspx?pu ll=/library/en-us/dnlong/html/installavalonindigob eta1rc.asp

The MEC (Middle Eastern Coillion)is only ONE of the two opposing forces. It seems someone only played the demo and failed to see the whole other army.

Software piracy is illegal. Software piracy is theft. Enjoy your fines and jail.
Since .doc and .xls can be opened by just about every alternative to Office out there, just how closed is it...

Here come all the anti-Bush, anti-Republican mud slingers...

Um, ISA 2004 has been in use for most Microsoft firewalls for a long time, ever since Mantaray went into beta.
Yeah kinda like how the Apple Store ran Solaris for eons before migrating over to MacOS X Server (2 years in fact)...
