here's a link provided by Malc a few posts up. on the left side, second to last paragraph of black text you see a notice for users to upgrade their drm software in order to play films marked with an asterisk. so open it hurts
f only someone would email me an offer on how to make fists of steel or something... sure no problem. just post your e-mail in plain-text on a well-traveled websight where our worms^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H everybody can see it, the flood of^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H e-mail will follow shortly.
The fact that I can edit it anonymously without review is distressing. an open system that trusts its users sounds good to me. the overall effect has been largely positive near as i can tell, wikipedia is a great reference.
i'm one of those kids in high school who's a developer and wants a developer's os, not a mainstream, easy-to-use, fragmented, bloated os. besides, the microkernel is more stable.
oh, and bsd isn't trying to be a mainstream desktop os. that's the reason i'm switching (my desktop, ironically) to freebsd tommorrow after exams let out:)
right, that's how i was too at first. since then i've used many commands (mostly learned from tutorials and lfs), and now it's faster than using a gui. once you know where everything is, you don't have to click click click for it, it's all there, you just type and enter... i think the term learning curve is applicable
right on, except he probably uses ie every once in a while to see what his sites look like from ie in(it's widely used:|). i do the same thing, but i still prefer konqueror:) in fact, a mac user i'm acquainted with does the same thing for his sites
yeah, text based rocks right now i'm on a 150mhz cyrix 6x86mx that's compiling links (the latest) and php-4.3.7... i'm posting this from links in an rsh session to my desktop. all in text, so it's low bandwidth and works on small hardware
Failure of the competition IS the goal of any good, thriving business. oh my.... well, i guess it depends on how you define "good" what happened to "love your neighbor"? of course it's ideal and i don't always follow it, but... you get the idea

dangit... oh well. thanks for the pointers.
i just hope linux stays away from what mandrake has become (slow).
os x comes with tcsh, it's wonderful ...or so a friend tells me
it's really a plot by the gnome people to get users to use the command line

there's a mathematical description too...
where f(x) = c/x and c is any constant
as x approaches infinity, f(x) approaches 0
(sorry, i'm taking a break from studying for a math exam)
with all else being equal, wouldn't you choose the interesting case over the bland one?
point taken, but all else isn't equal
why wouldn't apple want the previewing?
to me, it seems like good advertising... for free, and you know how companies like free adverts
...or regulate the voltage
what about cds as archival media?
something about breaking down, but is that real?
then there's dvds and magneto-optical (my personal favourite)
yeah, those linux people are at it again with their drm
*sigh*
and they're all obviously faked... AC's never sound like that...
how was programming different back then?
(if you don't mind answering)
and other historical bits
LOL...
well they do use it the most, but given the desire for gain associated with that type of person, there should be a few overseers who don't take bribes
