"Exploiting this issue to gain a remote shell as root is a rather trivial process. All an attacker has to do is send a post request that contains a file to upload using the parameter 'Filedata[0]', a location for the fileto be upload to which is specified within the 'folder' parameter, and of course a bogus 'Host' header," says James Bercegay, GulfTech Research and Development.
Stop talking about Spectre. There is no fix for Meltdown. Meltdown is much more severe. You cannot fix it in software, only mitigate it. You have been fooled, or you are being intentionally misleading.
Don't believe the lies and spin doctors: the Meltdown bug affects ONLY INTEL CPUs. No it doesn't affect ARM: the ARM75 is not even available and when it is, guess who made it? So if you buy an Intel CPU you will need to deal with Meltdown. There is "fix" or "microcode update" that can fix this issue. The only fix is replacement of the CPU. Do not be fooled by the misinformation.
This has nothing to do with Linux. There isn't a magic "patch" that makes Meltdown fixed. Meltdown is a Intel only bug that exists until you replace the chip.
That doesn't make any sense. AMD is not affected by the bug, so how would Microsoft "fix it"? It is processor specific. Meltdown is INTEL ONLY. But nice spin!
Meltdown is Intel only. No other released processor has this flaw. Grow up.
The key part is this: "We know that funding is really the key thing to actually changing rural broadband," a second White House official said.
In other words, more Federal government spending. Those guys really like to spend taxpayers money.
Yes. It is always a good thing to hand over taxpayer dollars to companies like Comcast to build out infrastructure. Oh I see, you were being serious?
They could live as far away as Russia and still fully participate.
He is very familiar with rural people and their needs. He grew up in the small town of Manhattan. Upper West Side. He is one of US!

Wrong. Even KPTI won't "fix" Meltdown. It will only mitigate the issue. Fixing requires replacing the CPU.

Until the Intel spin doctors stop posting misinformation. Meltdown is an INTEL ONLY ISSUE. These processors are defective and need a redesign.
You are kidding, right? Intel isn't going to fix Meldown unless they are forced to redesign. Their processors are flawed.

Why does it matter? Meldown is the one you should be concerned about. It is an Intel only bug and can only be fixed by replacing the CPU.
Not sure about that. It might be! Alexa is essentially the same thing as Bonzi Buddy, just with even more spying.
I agree. We should be talking about throwing the Intel CEO in jail for insider trading instead.
"If you'd say not"
I'm beginning to think the answer to your first question is "no".

AI is not a real thing. Clippy and Eliza get reinvented every decade. What a waste of money and time.
Why is a Meltdown patch affecting AMD? Only commercially avaiable Intel processors are affected by Meltdown.
So you are misinformed, not me. Glad you admitted it. Meltdown is INTEL ONLY.
WRONG. Meltdown is INTEL ONLY. The A75 isn't even on the market yet. Keep the message simple: MELTDOWN IS INTEL ONLY.
"clearly they can't afford to replace everyone's Intel with an identical socket that is unaffected by the problem."
Why do people say this? Intel is sitting on $17 BILLION in cash. Intel apologists are incredible.
This "skipping the depot" bit already is here. There is Limebike and a bunch of people in the US that do what you describe.
You believed their lies. There is no microcode fix. The processor is flawed and needs to be replaced.
Damn! I just got caught. Oh snap!
