We must take notes from China on how to steal correctly, because I just paid 3 bucks for gas and hear that 4 dollars a gallon may happen soon. And I thought Obama was going to end this Illegal war?
If I could only care. "It's a Linux OS that looks like a Windows OS!!!". It must be Christmas time because Slashdot is trying to give a its slashkiddies something to wet their beds about again *yawn*
Well, if you had reading comprehension, you would understand from my Parent post that I was complaining about it. Correct me if I'm wrong but wouldn't that be "Somebody". Should I just say instead of Google, imagine it's "Big Oil" that seems to be the only thing that gets you slashKOS kiddies attention.... "The polar bears Daddy, the polar bears!"
I don't think you get my point, I could care less about your information, I'm not a thief/hacker and am not evil. What I was referring to was that GOOGLE has access to all this information (by design) and they don't seem to give a crap about you, thus your information could be sold to the highest bidder (or just a good hacker) Or the Government, or a foreign Government, or a Political Party that doesn't like you, etc, etc... - getting the picture now?
I stopped using Google when they jumped the shark with China. I also don't like their attitude with not keeping things private for their users. They should make their new motto: "Do know Evil (until we get caught) - then screw you". And to think the founders were Democrat's, that just makes me sick! Does absolute power really corrupt?
If we redistribute the wealth of America for the hoax of global warming (which is what Copenhagen was about) we'll save some coffee beans? That's okay I'll drink tea.....
I havent used them in years, always thought there were better alternatives - but you might have to pay (news groups). I guess that is the whole issue isnt it? Gotta be free!!
I guess there is no need to point out the hypocracy on this one. I'm not going to hold my breath to wait for the liberal left's excuses as to why it's okay for "US", but not "THEM". This is why I'm so sick of politics.
The guest worker program ties a person to a company willing to hire them. The company has all the power, and the individual has NONE. If the person so much as complains about the 100 hour work week, disgusting water, lack of facilities, etc., etc., the company dumps them, they get sent back to Mexico, and get nothing. The next desperate person, willing to put up with that, gets the job.
You are incorrect, The Individual has all the power - they dont have to join a worker program do they? They could stay in Mexico couldn't they? The way you bring out your point, it sounds like they have it better off in Mexico anyway. Let me get you a towel for your bleeding heart....
With our media, and the leftist tilt toward amnesty you think for a minute that a compnay wouldnt be driven out of business if they forced the things you are saying? 100 hour work week? sorry, I call BS - prove it. "disgusting water" call BS again - prove it. "lack of facilities" LMAO - have you ever been to mexico? I'll say this again because you seemed to miss it last time "RUNNING WATER IS A LUXURY IN MEXICO". So the lack of facility's as you put it, would be what? Lack of a bucket? I'm not trying to put down the poor of Mexico, but that is what is coming across the border. Just having "facilities" would be a huge step forward for them. I ask again, have you ever been to Mexico? And Cancun doesnt count I mean the areas of "real life" in Mexico. I know the answer is "no" because if you have seen it you'd shut your mouth and stop talking like an elitist.
Buying cheap junk from China isn't illegal either, but it certainly does increase the national debt.
LMAO - now you need Economics 101, that is called trade. And China has one powerful economy right now doesnt it....
No, conservatives in the US want a "guest worker program" where Mexicans are indentured servants, paid less than minimum wage, live in whatever horrible conditions the company choses to supply, and have just exactly one human right... the right to be dragged back over the Mexican border if they don't like it.
How does a guest worker program make them an indentured servent? It would allow a Mexican to come into our country to make a bigger wage then they could in their own country! They could leave when they wanted (doesnt sound like a slave to me). Who says a company even needs to supply them with anything more than a job? If they supply a living area for them I can gaurantee it would be better then ANYTHING in Mexico - have you even been to Mexico and seen the poverty? RUNNING WATER IS A LUXURY THERE YOU IDIOT!! if they are going to be dragged back to the border as you put it, it would probably be, because the broke the law (maybe, just maybe??)
That will indeed be a very effective way to drive down the wages of American workers. What's more, it will further increase the national debt, as more and more money is sent straight out of the US, to be spent in Mexico.
This is already happening or has happened. Living in Arizona I have seen construction, fast food, hotels, etc.. get over run by illegals and the wages are in the toilet. BTW please inform me how it will further increase our national debt oh wise one. Mexicans sending money back home is not illegal, they earned their pay they can do with it what they wish - It's one of Mexico's biggest money makers. If you meant that they are incurring debts and not paying them back (like the health care in the ER's and free education, and welfare) then I might tend to agree.
Allow me to elaborate. First, he opposes an open-border policy. Most American neoconservatives favor an open-border policy because they like to use illegal and legal immigration to suppress wages. American agribusiness, not just Hispanic groups like La Raza, are the strongest advocates for allowing the importation of desperate foreign labor.
Allow me to elaborate, that you dont know what you're talking about: I'm an American Conservative (what the left would call a "neocon"). I also live in Arizona, do you think I favor an open-border policy? I'll answer that for you "HELL NO". Please build a wall, do whatever it takes - just get these illegals out of my country! PLEASE OH GOD, PLEASE, JUST LET THEM SPEAK ENGLISH WHEN I ORDER MY BIG MAC - but wait I thought the illegals just work in the farms picking crops - hmmm guess not.
also before you start on you're socialist rant, I have no issue with "legal" immigration - who would? I have no problems what so ever when people follow the rules and do what they are suppossed to.
The concept of immigrants working 14+ hours per day is considered to be cruel. He does not favor such brutal working conditions. Note that both parents of Seung Hui Cho, the mass murderer at Virginia Tech, worked 14+ hours per day. Neoconservatives applaud this situation: with glee, they self-servingly "praise" the hardworking nature of the Korean parents are. The consequence is that his parents were just too busy at work to give Seung Hui Cho the proper care that he needed. They never even noticed his rapid mental degeneration.
As to the rest of your oppinions about the +14 hour work days and some how connecting that to the Virginia Tech thing and making that killer into some kind of victim - dude take some meds and get some sleep sounds like you need it.
To resurrect an old and out of fashion style, that's the difference between capitalistic and bourgeois. I don't have a problem to get people enjoying the fruit of their labors. But one ancestor's labors? What made you earn the right to those fruits... beside being born in the right family (and not having too many siblings to share it with).
How about: "family is everything, everyone else is just friends" Kind of sums it up for me....
I guess I should have been more to the point and said American business since I thought that is what we were talking about. But needless to say I did find the following Wikipedia statement funny and to the point of the 'socialism' thing (apparently the 'workers' always get the shaft in a socialist society):
The huge size of MCC has caused tensions between the needs of an international corporation and adherence to traditional co-operative principles. There have been accusations that factories have been relocated by stealth abroad, mainly in Latin America, where workers are not given the same membership rights. In 2004, it was estimated that just less than half of the then 70,000-strong workforce were full members of the co-operative, most of which will become full members after completion of a probationary period. Since members cannot be separated from the cooperative except for misconduct, new potential members must undergo a probationary period to determine whether they are an appropriate fit for the cooperative. Potential members must also provide a buy-in capital contribution to the cooperative equal to about one year's base salary at the lowest level of employment before becoming a full member, which is usually financed by a loan from the cooperative bank. It is claimed that these measures are taken to discourage adventurism and ensure that all members have a financial stake in the success of the cooperatives.
Trade unions have complained of anti-unionizing policies in Eroski. Some have accused Mondragón of using the co-operative ideals as a marketing figleaf.
The distance between the most senior levels of management and individual managers has also caused concern. There is less feeling amongst the members or socios that they run the company. Measures to prevent too great a gap between manager and worker payscales have been relaxed to better compete for high-level professionals, leading to greater tensions. In recent years, some co-operatives have withdrawn from MCC to try and reinstate a more personal management of each company by its workers.
In 2004, the merger of Eroski with the Valencia-based cooperative Consum failed and both companies went separate ways.
"They're pruning the bottom of the tree- rather than take a chunk out of the executive money-sink"
I dont disagree with your statement here, most company's that are in financial problems often do this, and I still dont know why. As being in the workforce for a long time I have come to the conclusion that most management positions are a waste of money anyway, as most of the managers I've worked with have NO CLUE what is going on, what I do, or how I do it, but by god they somehow know how long it can take and give me deadlines. I've often told my co-workers any idiot can stand there and give me a deadlines errrrr.
"taking care of workers is better for the economy because workers CONSUME. Need I remind you that the American economy is held up chiefly by international corporations and massive consumption?
I have to disagree with your statement here however. this sounds more on the socialist side to me. From what I have read the American economy is held up by small independent business btw, not international corps (but I'm willing to view other data on this as I will always listen to both sides - but I do tend to believe it's the small business's at this point). Also if I create my own business (Hopefully someday) I'm not creating my business to "take care of workers" I'm creating the business to MAKE ME MONEY period end of story. If my business makes me buku rich I could see compensating the workers/employees that may have helped my business, that's just being good natured. But, Can you tell me of one business that was created stictly to benefit the workers and not the owners of that said business? I would tend to think that you can't name to many, because I would imagine they're no longer in business (but I wish they would be my competition - understand?).
You do realise our Government or any Government for that matter is not a constant. Government can be changed (especially in America) and overthrown if need be (our founding fathers believed that a government should be over thrown about every 20 years or so) if that said government doesnt do the will of the people.
New people can be put in positions of power by its citizens (or power can be taken away from these people) simply by its citizens liking or not liking something and voting, new laws can be created, old laws can be revoked - it's just a matter of the people/citizens standing up and changing things. When I here whining that it's all gloom and doom, nothing can be done becuase Law 'CXV-123.3445' has been implemented is a bunch of hooey (alcohal used to be illegal, it isnt anymore because the people stood up).
It amazes me to think that in a country were it's citizens have so much control, all these doom and gloomers can do nothing but cry like babies. I have a word for people like that I call them Sheep. People like this can be lead to graze without any questions asked and will be happy - or unhappy depending on the farmer in charge - get it?
You're right that nobody has yet been prosecuted for selling a sandwich. But all it takes is one snivelling DA to get pissed off about something unrelated, and use this as an excuse to hassle a deli owner (for example).
like the snivilnig DA who NOW dropped the charges for the Duke rape case, and is now being prosectued himself of mishandling? You mean DA's like that? Wait isnt the ends justifying the means? Wholy crap batman, that would mean our system IS working
Yeah. Cause these post-911 laws/regs/orders would never be abused by the authorities or used in a way that exceeded the original intent.
I tend to agree with your statement, you'd have to be a paranoid nutt to think otherwise - unless you can prove it to me other wise Thaaaaaaaanks.
From someone who works with and creates databases. Sometimes data is not to be deleted, ever here of Data warehousing? some data can be needed for referencing purposes, showing links, showing parent relationships etc, etc, etc...
lets say, Bob is a cousin (or some other bad dude) of Sadam, if you delete Sadam is Bob now any less evil? Or if you simply flag Sadam as dead but dont delete Sadam you lose nothing, and can still pull up all the attrocities of Sadam.
I think the funnies part of my post is that I have to explain databases to someone on slashdot LMAO!
Hopefully most Slashdotters would at least make a minimal effort at wiping personal data off of any computer before selling it on.
if it was most Slahdotters - It would just be porn.....
We must take notes from China on how to steal correctly, because I just paid 3 bucks for gas and hear that 4 dollars a gallon may happen soon. And I thought Obama was going to end this Illegal war?
Thomas Jefferson raped his slaves.
Did Jefferson get to stone his slaves after raping them like the Muslim society's do?
Nah, dirty hippies would be the first to go, pacifist are the easiest to kill when they're just high and have no weaponry.

I like tea, you have a problem with tea?
"That's okay, I'll move inland."
I'm already inland so I'll just have beach front property - sweet!
"That's okay, I'll just eat less food."
with all this extra water, sea life will flourish - I love sea food! SUSHI TIME!!
"That's okay, I'll stay indoors during the summer."
I live in the desert right now, I already live indoors during the summer - sweet no change there!!
"That's okay, I'll buy guns and fend them off."
Dude I already have guns - lots of em THIS IS JUST GETTING BETTER AND BETTER!!
"That's okay, I'll live underground."
Hell it would be cooler then it is now, especially during the summer - I'll try it out!
If we redistribute the wealth of America for the hoax of global warming (which is what Copenhagen was about) we'll save some coffee beans? That's okay I'll drink tea.....
