The ranking comes from an anti-virus company (sophos). Therefore it's in their intention to challange young people to break this particular record... It called "Creating new Market resources"
Microsoft isn't willing to pay the bounty, because the informers are suspects themselves. That was a cheap one for them and they will surely go on with this practise - it's way cheaper for them to pay a little bounty than to fix some bugs.
If this is really the latest status and
it's only capable of 50% filtering accuracy, they should overthink to release it and maybe establish a better (learnable) filter like Dspam which has an accuracy of up to more than 99%.
It works really great and Spam is not an issue for me anymore (I had more than 50 Spammails in my inbox AFTER mozilla-thunderbird filtering...)
Have you ever tried to replace your zillions of filters with this neat little tool?
Spam in my inbox went down from 100 per day (after mozilla-firefox filter) to 0 today. Dspam is really a gift to the spam-hating community, give it a try!

I have just moved my whole music library from iTunes to Winamp, took me hours, if not days.
I was really amazed of the power, that lasts in winamp.
I hope this great project will nevertheless live on.
