You can report whatever you believe to be a crime. As long as it is a reasonable belief and you're not doing it to abuse or harrass someone you'll be fine.
But he was paying off a debt, they had already served him, and threatened him if he didn't pay. The purpose behind legal tender was to have a defined liquid asset to pay debts.
They called him at home. They knew who he was, his phone number, and where he lived.
I don't see the great need to physically detain him.
There are just some things they see as wrong and would like to fix. I think working to solve problems is a responsible thing to do. The only question is what side of the debate you're on. Sitting back and calling the other side names isn't the way to accomplish it.
I believe legal tender means it MUST be permitted to pay a debt. There are likely coinage or trade laws to prevent someone from paying debts in unreasonable currency. Stuff like more then 40 of any given demonination.
It specifically states there is no restriction on running the program, or what you can do with the output. Changing from a distribution license to a usage license is a VERY significant change in the spirit of the license.
Quote Last para, Term 0 The act of running the Program is not restricted, and the output from the Program is covered only if its contents constitute a work based on the Program
Term 9 Such new versions will be similar in spirit to the present version,
I'll be voting Conservative as the lesser of two evils. My views sit somewhere between them.
After the fiasco of blantant lies with the Ontario Liberals, and the general lack of direction with the Federal Liberals I don't really see any chance for progress.
Most of all I want a clear government that says what they will do, then does it. Did the Liberals scrap the GST? Decide when they'd admit to Canadian soldiers in Afghanistan AND Iraq?
Our current governing party is useless. They have no backbone, vision or plan. I would rather have ANY of the opposition parties in power, they at least have an idea of what they want, will honestly and clearly state it, and work towards it.
The liberals keep changing depending on the public opinion poll of the day. Which is a sad way to govern.
However the intellectual knowledge that you made more progress for a few months is generally overcome by the general suckiness of not having a car anymore.
But I saw the shirt first, I check for these things. After I know the extent of the defect I purchase the shirt. Sometimes a few threads off will be acceptable, sometimes not.
Same with furniture and my brick house. I inspected and determined myself if this was acceptable BEFORE purchasing. Actually when buying a used house or car it is common to use such defects to get a lower price to account for such a defect.
An LCD manufacturer has 4 choices. 1. Make perfect product. 2. Disclose that it isn't perfect. 3. Try before you buy. This gets troublesome with warranties and pixels that die after purchase. 4. The current mess of imperfect product and lack of proper disclosure. At best poor customer service, at worst a fraudulent sales tactic.
If enough people accept defective products it becomes normal. Look at MS Office, nice bloated and horribly unstable, but this type of behaviour is almost expected today.
If they say they're selling a unit with an LCD display that may have a dead pixel or two, then that's what your money buys.
Big if, I've never seen an LCD product say that there may be defective pixels. Unless they put this type of condition on the box, on the outside where I can see it, they are not telling me.
It is a fair assumption when you buy a brand new LCD display with ??x?? pixels, that they are going to be function, not just sit there.
Not only that, they'll take all your computer stuff for a few years as evidence for their investigation. Just being accused of a crime is enough of a problem to worry about.
Imagine someone can get on, pay 1 fare, then they exapand and fill the whole bus, to the point the police can't come in and take them off. That is the security risk of a fork bomb.
The protection systems should allow the operator to limit them to a certain number of seats, or at least allow a method to kick them off.
Your company may own your work due to this agreement. This is a maybe heavily dependant on your jurisdiction. The likely own stuff you did at work, maybe stuff you did at home, unlikely stuff you did before you worked there. If you GPLd it it doesn't matter, you can still transfer the copyright.
They don't own the GPL work you didn't create. Your agreement can't change this, as you never had rights to take the ownership from the origional author. I doubt you are in trouble unless you did something to lead them to believe they did own it.
They can't patent GPL code if it has already been distributed before the patent application was made.

Then why would you release your work under the GPLv2?
Well lets see, elected officials stating a position on a controversial issue that a large numbers of Canadians support.
Sounds pretty much like democracy in action to me. You don't have to like it, or agree with it, but everyone is entitled to their opinion.
Yes lets do stuff, then deny it when it becomes politically convenient.
Lots of good strong ethics there.
I don't think the Conservatives are socially backward. Why would you say that?
I haven't heard anything like calls to reinstate slavery or remove womens right to vote. Maybe I'm missing something.
I can think of some issues where people can disagree, but nothing suggesting backwards ideas.
Mostly I see a party with ideas and a vision.
I'll be voting Conservative as the lesser of two evils. My views sit somewhere between them.

Same in Canada, but there is nothing to stop your friend from coming over, use your computer with your help to copy your CD for his personal use.
As long as they do it, and it is for their use, it's okay today at least.
I don't actually do this, most music isn't worth listening to.
Our current governing party is useless. They have no backbone, vision or plan.

But we aren't stealing music.
Downloading, copying or taping off the radio is a legally permitted activity in many countries.
In Canada we even even have the blank media levy (tax) to pay the copyright holders for their work.
Next they'll tell us getting a tax refund is stealing from the government.
You're of course right.

It is defective, return it.

Consider a different perspective like a city bus.
Imagine someone can get on, pay 1 fare, then they exapand and fill the whole bus, to the point the police can't come in and take them off.
That is the security risk of a fork bomb.

Are political donations tax exempt in the US?
All it will take to minimize the value of these things is for people to "donate" a few billion dollars worth of tax deductions.
Why even try to make something perfect?
What we do for precision work is make a master near the size we want to be, and then just be sure to consider the offset.
Interesting, 70kg sounds like quite a bit more than 140 pounds to me.
(70kg is about 154lbs)
Kroz was the best game ever.
I don't get this whole FPS thing, the good old 2D games were so much more fun.
