Punching someone over steak and chips has nothing to do with political correctness. You're going to have to think harder than just relying on the tried-and-busted PC canard again.
It's a knee-jerk reaction because you are assuming what Uber will do without any evidence beyond the actions of others. I doubt you'd like being judged by the actions of other people as it would probably be highly inaccurate judgement - the exact same logic applies here. Screaming and sobbing about some slippery slope or the actions of other companies isn't helping anyone, let alone you.
The problem is you can't avoid paying for the pork without avoiding paying for the essential. The more mature way of dealing with that situation would be to keep paying, but change the system. If you can't change the system, giving up and not paying makes you lazy, not part of the solution.
They trusted two sources - the flier from the institution, and the Wikipedia article on it. So you are saying they should trust at least three sources? What if 2/3 of the sources agree, and one does not? Go for a fourth?
And what if the people who could make the code work are women who don't want to work in IT due to some hitherto-undiscovered reason?
Learning is never bad, so why you are calling for people to stop attempting to learn is puzzling. If one was feeling less charitable, one might assume it's because you know what they'll learn and don't want it to become common knowledge. That's the usual reason for people calling out against learning - fear of the answer.
They're just trying to figure out a metric, that's all. Metrics are good because it lets us analyse stuff. Analysing stuff is good because we can get to the bottom of why things are. One thing that currently exists: Development in general is missing out on lots of geniuses who are women, who don't want (for various reasons) to be developers. That is an interesting question, and things like this help to get to grips with it, as it can be used to measure any redress in the balance.
Any industry which does not appeal to ~half of its prospective workers might want to spend a bit of time trying to figure out why, instead of getting all defensive and blaming everyone and everything else for the issue.
Here's a question: Would you enter such a discussion open to the idea that you are wrong? What if someone showed you concrete evidence of, say, widespread institutionalised misogyny - would you accept it?
It would just be dumb, as plenty of people would do that for any number of reasons not related to terrorism. Israel's approach is not as simple as you seem to think it is, nor does it rely on "oh that guy fits my stereotype of a terrorist".
The brain-washed are thinking, though. The brain-washing process just rewired various logical constructs in their brain and lets them continue thinking as they did before, albeit with a modified "firmware", if you will. To say they are not thinking is not going to help in fixing it.
Or maybe I'm out living my life, socialising, and having a generally-awesome time:) I'm flattered by the attention and concern, however. Thank you very much.
Nice generalisation there, bub! I particularly love how you condensed and confused the entire spectrum of environmentalism into a single entity with a single voice. You're clearly very intelligent!
Hydro doesn't release greenhouse gasses or particulates in order to generate electricity, so from a climatological perspective it's great. It does, however, damage the ecosystem in which its built, so from an ecological perspective it's not great, and will usually be challenged to great length if proposed.
See how those two ideas can co-exist? Of course you don't.
You are chastising environmentalists because you haven't been bothered to read what they write on the subject? You don't even realise how moronic this makes you look. You are the stereotypical selfish old man poking feeble holes in a world he doesn't understand in a desperate attempt to regain some sense of control. Stop. The future begs you.
That's all you have, Mr. Cowardly? Brilliant. I'm going to completely reappraise my perspective on everything because of your insights. If you can't tell the difference between Wordpress and PHP, then you need more help than you can get from Slashdot.
The fact you sound like APK should make you think twice about how you conduct yourself online.
So you start pulling over who you think conforms to the stereotypical look of a terrorist, and the terrorists will stop using people who look like that (if they ever did in the first place). Now you've just wasted all that money, and the terrorists will still get through.
It's not political correctness causing problems, but ridiculous knee-jerk reactions like yours. I seriously hope you are joking:)
Big whoop. Microsoft is just not insisting that OEMs produce motherboards with SecureBoot which can be disabled. That's it. If you want to get upset over that, no one will stop you, but a fair few people will laugh at your misdirected rage-fest.
It's universal in the sense that it works on any machine/device running Windows 10. That's about as far away from a mess as you can get. It only becomes a mess if you insist that it magically fixes things which happened in the past, which just makes you look rather foolish;)
Now imagine they're not looking for some drugs which will be out of your system by then, but are actually only worried about one particular drug which will stay in your system well until July. That's what's happening here, only it's not drugs, but troops on the border.
Kind of like that vicious Iranian passenger plane hurting that peaceful US missile which was having a gentle stroll through Iranian airspace at the time.

So you are ignoring all the research on the subject and just assuming it's a choice because "gut feeling". Brilliant.

I know it's you, APK. Your bizarre writing style gives it away. I'm flattered I have made such a strong impression on you. Have fun with it!

So you don't understand the difference between the words "minority" and "majority". Thanks for telling everyone.

APK? Is that you, lil' buddy?
The spin appears to be entirely in your head...

And he probably won't go to those places, either. You don't seem to have a point.

You don't pay money for it. Outside the FOSS world, when talking about products, "free" has a particular meaning which this satisfies perfectly.
The only thing you should be angry with is your understanding of the world.
So smug, yet you missed that apostrophe in there. Good stuff.
