Are you fucking kidding me? The US killed well over 300,000 civilians by bombing them in WWII. The Germans got about 100,000. And the US dropped TWO NUCLEAR WEAPONS on Japanese cities, and killed more civilians in Tokyo in TWO DAYS than the Germans managed to kill by bombing in the entire fucking war. More humane my ass. Fucking disgusting white-washing of history. Especially when you consider only 1,700 US civilians died in WWII, compared to the millions in other countries. Where the fuck did you attend school? The G.I. Joe Academy of Isn't America Fucking Brilliant and Fuck the Brown People?

And the US started the war in Iraq, not the people of Fallujah. So your last line kind of says "The US wants to kill civilians". Nice.

Because bullets don't indiscriminately burn down whole city blocks (with fire that can't be put out by water), and are aimed at individual bad guys - completely unlike WP. That's the problem. It's not as if you can single someone out for WP - what happened is shitloads of the stuff was dumped on a city that contained shitloads of innocent civilians caught up in the fighting. They got burned, their houses got burned, their possessions got burned, and more people pissed off with the US were made.

You'd have a point if the UK has a massive gun-crime problem. It doesn't. Far from it. Every single unlicensed handgun that is found is destroyed, whether it be in someone's house, or being imported. Don't get me wrong - I *love* the genre. It's my favourite genre by far. What I don't understand is people defending it by saying it's on the same level as modern closed-source games. That simply isn't the case. And the 10 years "bollocks" is not bollocks - it's based on the freakin' Quake engine, which was created 13 years ago. Sure, bump-mapping and dynamic lighting is great, but hardly on-par with the shed-loads of further advances that are present in closed-source games. It looks nicer than UT2K4? Really? Considering the UT2 engine supports sooo many more effects, it's almost - almost - like you're making stuff up to suit your argument. I know a lot of people feel strongly about FOSS, but really - saying a game based on a slightly-modified Quake engine looks better than the UT2 engine is frankly hilarious. I mean no offence in this post, I'm not trolling by any means. I just care about results, not excuses. And you won't be seeing me on any servers :)

That sounds lovely and all - I appreciate the immense amount of work the developers put in, but they ended up with a game that looks 10 years out of date. So what you're saying is that FOSS FPS games are made by people with the best intentions and skill, but end up being terrible when compared to closed-source commercial games.
