Luckily that's your opinion. It's not a native binary, either, but bytecode to be interpreted by the Flash Player. I guess you hate Java, as well. Any blanket statements about where things should and should not belong make no sense, as otherwise technology would never have progressed. Judge each implementation of a technology on its own merits, don't judge the technology itself when that's what you really want to do.
He *did* ask for the warrantless wiretaps, the whole point that this article is discussing. So it started out as a Bush-bashing thread, started by Bush himself.
I don't know what OS you use, or what flash version you use, or how old your computer is, but all of those "issues" ceased being issues years ago. Flash, especially AS3, is fast. It most definitely has uses, such as rich web applications. Seeing as many companies are offering traditional software served over the net, a technology that allows fast 100% OO cross-platform applications seems like a great idea.
That's just dumb web design. I've seen plenty of (X)HTML sites that are equally, if not more, retarded. Don't shoot the messenger. Flash, even full-page flash apps (RIA, rich web apps aka Flex), have their uses. Try using a full-page Google Maps Flex application and tell me you don't think it has uses:)
You should see a doctor about getting that sand out of your vagina. It sounds really itchy:) Seriously - you've made your point about 15 times in this discussion. It seems like this article is getting personal to you.
No it doesn't. That's absolute bullshit. Dell do no such thing. They'll warn you if you make a choice of hardware and software that won't work together, but they'll not tell you to upgrade one part of the system because you upgraded another. Heck - you can just call them up and tell them exactly what components (even down to manufacturer and part number, if they stock it) to put in your computer. I've done that a few times, and I've yet to be up-sold on anything.
Doesn't it piss you off that you're having to play the same game as the asshat Mac owner? You get charged the same price for the hardware as people who don't know it's too expensive. Even the Mac base units are hideously overpriced.
Dells are fucking SOLID these days. I don't know what they put in their workers' water, but every single Dell machine I've purchased has been the tits.
Ubuntu would fit all the requirements, apart from compatibility with what's on the market at the moment. That's the issue. Like it or not, Windows has a massive amount of hardware and software designed for it. Hardware and software people need to use.
So we should go and kill all the sharks, lions, and tigers, as they've all killed a bunch of people (more than thousands). They're real. They'll kill you if they can.
There has to be something more to the logic than that for it to not be ridiculous.
So where is the benefit of this approach if it still has to use third-party software, which might or might not be the right version, etc., to achieve something that Flash can achieve on its own. I don't know why you're so unhappy with flash - it's one of the fastest methods to implement rich web applications, much faster than JavaScript, and with muuuch more functionality built-in. I'm all ears:)
Your bias is noted:) The iPhone is a niche market within a niche market. Using that as a yard-stick for adoption is, well, completely retarded. Heck - it doesn't support copy and paste, so I guess those are newfangled techniques never destined to be commonplace. Flash performance on Macs, especially when using AS3 or Flex, is perfectly reasonable. Plus, as it contains all the rendering, you get consistent results across platforms. The only difference between AS3 on Macs and PCs, that I've come across when developing, is Macs can't test a file upload to a server. That's it. When you compare that to the difference between JavaScript implementations across browsers and platforms, you'll see the difference. And, btw, I don't get pestered to update my Flash. Only if a new major version comes out is that a problem. Oh, and one more thing - Flash natively supports a few video and audio codecs. Does JavaScript?
Flash isn't as bad as you make it out to be. ActionScript 3 (now fully ECMA-compliant) is phenomenally fast, and highly portable. It works great on Linux, Windows, OS X, and when Flash Lite gets updated to AS3 (it's AS2 at the moment), you'll have your phones covered, too. JavaScript is very useful, but this is not a great use for it. Flash (or, rather, Flex), to me at least, seems like the elegant method. Support, speed, simplicity.
Flash is fast on the Mac. As for the iPhone - well, it's a niche phone - of course its flash support is not going to be up to scratch. Especially with Herr Jobs not wanting it:)
What went wrong in Iraq? I don't think aggressiveness was the biggest mistake. Obviously being there itself was a massive mistake, but the largest mistake was disbanding the Iraqi army. All those guys suddenly out of work, seeing their country overrun by foreigners, with all that training, and all that spare time. Not to mention all those mouths to feed. They essentially did what a lot of US troops do when they leave the army - join a private military force. In the US it's Blackwater, in Iraq it's one of the many paramilitary organisations. Al Qaida is just one group of those organisations.
Terrorism does indeed work. The best way to defeat it is to not let it be the only course of action. Listen to the aggrieved parties, and see if their claims have any merit. If they do, fix them. If not, show the world, and them, just how wrong they are. Honesty and objectivity are the only weapons we know that can defeat, and have defeated, terrorism. It worked for the UK, it can work for anyone.
When I tried it, it was slow as all hell. I couldn't even use it. I guess that's one drawback of such applications - the bottleneck is not at your computer, and as such is out of your control. At least with something like Flash/Flex the amount of communication between the server and client can be drastically reduced, and cross-platform compatibility is greatly improved.
What does population density have to do with increasing population? How can you use one to guess about the other? I'd say you're pretty confused :)

Ever used a Google Maps flash implementation? If you had, you'd realise just how powerful and useful flash on the web is.
He *did* ask for the warrantless wiretaps, the whole point that this article is discussing. So it started out as a Bush-bashing thread, started by Bush himself.
Vista has not failed, fyi. Reading it a thousand times a day on slashdot does not make it the truth :)

Win + Tab does that flappy-window-scrolly-thing on Vista. It's quite useful
Win + M minimises all open windows. It looks like doing a Win + D, but instead of hiding the windows, it minimises them
Win + opens the corresponding icons in your Quick Launch group on your task bar (if you have one)
Win + Break opens the System window
I'm probably missing a few.

You're the one making the claim in the positive, so it's up to you to prove they do have seperate QA procedures for Apple memory.
NewEgg might not, but almost every single memory reseller has them. Not to mention the massive list of vendors on Google Product Search.
Ubuntu would fit all the requirements, apart from compatibility with what's on the market at the moment. That's the issue. Like it or not, Windows has a massive amount of hardware and software designed for it. Hardware and software people need to use.
