In the CS department at the University of Southern California- 4 years ago, M$ handed our department a bunch of copies of Win NT and Visual Studio to hand out to the programming students. At the same time (im not sure of the EXACT correspondance, but there is one), our CS201 class (basically advanced datastructures and the event-loop model) switched over to MFC *gag* from Java.
I now use MS Visual Studio.NET, and while its a good IDE, I can honestly say I would be using gcc right now if this shinnaniganry hadn't happened.
I cant go to 'keyword:beta' cause I am not using AOL, just AIM.
However, you are correct, the information I once saw is still there: http://www.aim.com/tango/index.adp
I dont know how to add people however, since there is no program-native documentation on it. I assume perhaps add their ICQ numbers?
It also says you must have both an AIM and ICQ number. But thats as much information as I seem to be able to find.
I downloaded the latest AIM beta a while ago because it said it would have ICQ support. They've been talking about it for ages. But there was none, and now the page no longer talks about it and there have been several more beta patches.
When will I have the power of ICQ with the ease of AIM (without the evil of M$)?!

No, this is not what they're talking about. They mean not having to rely on 3rd party Video Conferencing.
ICQ and AOL both have the option to initiate '3rd party services' such as netmeeting and Quake1 already.
Obviously, if they spent enough money on marketing, people should like it right? I mean, thats what marketing IS. If marketing doesnt work, they'd have to rely on *gasp* _content_?!!
Burn those infernal networks of informed consumers.
Where is the humaniy?!
Wasnt there some sort of clause in the constitution that says the SS# is not to be used as a tracking ID? I know the Uni of So Cal used to use SS#s as their student IDs, but they almost got in government trouble because of it.

Quick, someone erase this article, BEFORE SCO SEES IT! (yes, its a joke)
Cry SCO, cry me a river. then we'll clean it up, after we clean you up in the courtrooms. Your ploy failed! Give it up!
I have used gaim. Its decent, when you're on linux box.

Note: the dots only represent 5% of the actual NUMBER of routers downed. (though I bet their locations are based off of an average)
