Gatwick Airport already has em in both north and south terminals. They've been installed over the past few months (called Autogates) and still have a lot of bugs in the system. They dont always do what they should. People have successfully talegated others, failed to be recognised and recognised as somebody different (ie family member). Although when they work they are quite cool. Will be interesting to see how they pan out.
My bad. In retrospect I probably didnt do him any favours wording it like that cause your right, three of the four 'possible' charges arent really sex crimes in any rational society. And the forth is dubious at best. Better than 'Rape Appeal' though.
I noticed that even with an invite you might be out of luck: "Already invited? We've temporarily exceeded our capacity. Please try again soon."
But I really hope not! And just in case I would love to test this I would also love an invite if a nice person would be awesome and send one to peterniss22 [AT] gmail doot com:)
In the UK at least you cannot get an airside pass without a background check consisting of a criminal history check in all countries you have ever lived, five years employment to a one month resolution and a referee check to cover five years down to a single month resolution as well as a residency check. They are pretty darn meticulous. Perhaps the US should try harder to weed out criminals who are trusted to provide the security and screening to airline passengers? Seems like a good place for terrorists to start applying for jobs.
"I bought 4 of these to tie my girlfriend up to the rack in our dungeon. Just the thought of how much money I spent on these things took our playtime to a new level. It truly is a mind blowing experience knowing you've got almost $60,000.00 worth of Oxygen Free Copper wrapped around your limbs. "
Thats nothing. How about £9,936 for a 2.5 meter HDMI cable! - http://goo.gl/VMECV - Now that is pushing the envelope to the maximum. Sadly there will always be idiots with too much money in their pockets who buy this stuff. Everyone should do Digital Electronics 101.
Lawyers dont like competition and are very good at suing cause thats what they do. I just watched a great doco on the dodgy legal tactics going on in the states called 'hot coffee' based on the well known McDonnalds/coffee lawsuit. Very much worth a watch.
A note on Telstra's new filter. - and I suspect this has been done on purpose to make people think that the actual filter that labour is planning isnt all that bad in some kind of last ditch smooch attempt on Conroy - possibly due to Telstra and co getting left out of the NBN. If you look at what labour has proposed, it goes far beyond just the worst of the worst child abuse material and hence the public backlash. So I can't see any groups like Lulzsec getting all uperty about this filter since it is only blocking the very nasty stuff. Anyway nobody likes kiddy porn except the broken. So I can only imagine this is part of a FUD campaign by Telstra and Conroy to ease Ausies into his planned censorship regime and seed the idea that the whole filtering concept is infact just about blocking child abuse material - which is just not true.
If it were me I would have called the bomb squad and made sure all the TV crews were there to see them pull the tracking device off. I think the government and friends have granted themselves far too many powers since 9/11 etc and all of which wouldnt make a damn difference had it all happen again. Its a convenient justification to make it easier for which ever department has the resposibilities to do something that could be a bit easier if they were able to spy on you, read your emails, listen to your calls, check your bank transactions, etc, etc and now track your every movements. None of which is going to stop a guy with a cash plane ticket and a box knife is it now? I think the balance between privacy and security has now long been broken and ever day it seems to be getting worse. Its only when people like this guy stand up and make a point that it shouldnt be happening that something might ever possibly change.
It doesn’t necessarily mean that anything you put on facebook is factual or true. Its not like your facebook page is a legal declaration of the truth. You could I assume argue that whatever they find or claim was just made up. As long as you don’t claim to not know someone in your friend list that you added yourself. I don’t think you can tell who added who anyway.
I 2nd your motion and couldnt agree more. These douchebags are going to make owning a laser almost impossible. Though to be fair all DVD burners have a decent sized laser and so do blue rays so an outright ban would be impossible. Green lasers though I dont think are used in any common goods but I could be wrong.
It's sad when your first thoughts on reading this story is 'oh another windows fail' but the sad reality is that I would bet my life that it was. Assuming I am correct, will Microsoft be held accountable?
I see no problem in using a laptop as long as its being used for education related activities. If they dont want everyone browsing pr0n, chatting or facebooking they only need block those sites and services from the campus wifi. But I think the ability to google something when your learning is a must. I find it a big help to be able to research things I am learning about on the fly.
I had no idea there was democracy in Zimbabwe. I was under the impression that Robert Mugabe bullied his way into power and has fixed it so he never leaves? Is this not right?
There are two types of patenters. The first patents invetions he or she built or designed to stop others from copying it. The second patents vague ideas that do not tie to any invention or product with the goal of suing anyone who might possibly be seen as infringing. Otherwise known as a Patent Troll.
This guy appears to be the latter. Given he is a Microsofty doesnt help him either.
Heres a pic of them in testing - http://www.flickr.com/photos/65580523@N07/5969526401/in/photostream
That is just the passport check (like a photographic logbook). And your right they are Logitech cameras as I have had to fix em once or twice before.

Sadly my suspicions seem to be correct. Still get the "Already invited? We've temporarily exceeded our capacity. Please try again soon."
Still thanks for the invite Luis, your a champ. Will keep trying.

I'd pay more for their home addresses :)

Because all those using usenet to get movies would otherwise have purchased them? I doubt it.
Is this not the same as suing gun manufacturers for making lethal tools?

You wouldnt know HBGary by any chance?
I was thinking he may have done that from the moment Sony started crying like a baby.
Would he not just have deleted anything to do with Sony along time ago? Or better yet, worked from removable media.
