This is true. The major problem for any home automation setup will be the endpoint user interface. Most of the solutions I have played with are very expensive for home use. What I have been thinking about for home use are some cheap modbus thermostats from china along with a decent rs485 adapter. Given the nice python modules (modbusTK) out there it would be very easy to put something together python and some sort of web interface. If you are going BACnet over rs485 good luck finding a cheap solution that can speak the protocol.
Can Comedy Central reset their clock. I hate it when the dvr records a show of them only to have the last 2 minutes cut off. Let them standardize it with everyone else. Put Futurama back on Adult Swim.

I had problems with A8N-SLI deluxe and 7900Gts blue screening after the first save. Turning off the HD post processing fixed this. I would give the game 9 out of 10. It would have been a 10 if it were not for the SecuRom crap.
I have some Sylvania CF that do the same things, they take 5 minuites to warm up. I found some GEs at Sam's Club that work a lot better. I moved the Sylvanias to other aeras in the house where i do not need instant light, porch etc.
How about manufactures start giving us a proper key guard, one that does not disable itself when put in a pocket or purse. Older phones had ones where you pressed buttons in a certain pattern to disable it. Now days you only need to pres and hold one button to disable key guard. WTF do you think happens when this phone is placed in a pocket or purse, key guard is turned off and you start dialing random numbers.
FYI: Hot glue melts well starts to melt at about 130F. Well this was the inside case temperature next to a video card that had a fan attached with hot glue.. I would doubt that an I-pod would get hot enough to melt it. Now if the battery exploded that would be a different story.

Bacnet over IP or Modbus TCP take your pick.

From the picture the sockets look to be of the 940 type. Why not make an L1 version of this so you can at least get DDR2 or Barcelona running.
Why did I think of this after reading this?

Sylvania is crap.

No, but I bet you they don't do it more than once.
You want loud? Connect a few of these fans from All Electronics. That should be enough noise for anyone.
Thanks! I was wondering why http://www.srh.noaa.gov/radar/ stopped working on my phone!
