But, if there were a software problem where it incorrectly considered the accelerator as pressed, and the brake not, wouldn't that be what it recorded?
IOW, showing that the system is self-consistent doesn't prove that it is correct.
...and the age distribution tab of the spreadsheet doesn't support the claim:
the age distribution really is extremely skewed. The overwhelming majority are over 55.
The spreadsheet shows 20 age 50+ and 15 age 0-50. That doesn't sound statistically significant, let alone "overwhelming."
And if a driver is 50, are they put into the 40-50 category, or the 50-60 category? Where's the data on Toyota model/year ownership by age, needed to even begin to make a valid comparison? Is 55 the median age for the owner's of the models/years involved in these accidents?
Seems like a poorly thought out attempt to make a case to me.
MacOS allowed you to set the error sound to whatever you wanted (do they still do that?), my favorite was always a sound clip from The Wizard of Oz: "...and what would you do if you had a brain?"
Nvidia's recommendation is to just use the generic X.Org VESA driver to navigate their way to nvidia.com so that they can install the proprietary driver.
What does that mean? Is the "X.Org VESA driver" now a web browser?
"Conclude" means "bring to an end." They might have concluded treaty negotiations, but they didn't conclude a treaty (except to the extent that this new treaty may replace an old one, which is clearly not what was meant). And concluding negotiations doesn't imply either agreement or disagreement, so the headline should probably read "US and Russia agree to arms control treaty."
Why can't the exact same thing be said to be true for Texas?
i.e. "Texas is the second largest textbook market, but it tends to be so specific about what kinds of information its students should learn that few other states follow its lead."
California has half again the population of Texas. Is there no CA state approval for textbooks? Seems that CA and TX should balance each other out, politically.
because, see, people are really talking about unintended acceleration, and in this particular branch of discussion, about the problems which would be caused by some proposed solutions. Car or truck doesn't matter, simply killing engine power when the brake is pressed causes problems.
Leave it to an AC. It's spelled "giga," it's pronounced "jigga."

Checkout the Lookout app. Here's the web site which goes with it...

This sounds like an animated version of that.
ITYM "8 K".
SI units are capitalized when the name of the unit is derived from the name of a person.

What's unique about Apple? I thought this was just how the whole (broken) system worked, and everyone did the same.
I believe that Apple is suing HTC over gestures which use multi-touch.
The patent in this suit is related to sensing multi-touch, and is therefore a prerequisite to doing multi-touch gestures. Here's the patent.
I have no idea of what relationship there is between Elan and Logitech (who was awarded the patent).
Unless they're too stupid to notice.
No one who would hold up the C64 as an example has any place in IT.

doesn't show the text in Opera. ( I'll assume it's a site problem, since Opera 10.51 scores perfect on all the acid tests).
Here's a better one, and official, too.

Yes, so what?
How does changing the email font have any effect on the amount of ink (or the font) used for creating papers?
In summary, I agree with your first point, which is proven by your second.
because I really like the straight-forward, easy to understand, error-free billing system that Verizon Wireless has.
Really, what idiot would trust them with this? Hey - what's this $4.59 "service access charge" that's tacked onto my $10 order?

I tell you, Jeff Bezos is a fucking genius!
(sarcasm hat off)
states that "A Dedicated Charging Port is required to short the D+ line to the D- line."
A USB hub obviously doesn't do that, so some devices won't charge off a lone hub.
let me get this straight. They're complaining about something which is free?
That sounds like past tense. Yuck.
Professional? Maybe, if you went to Clemson. Is this the price for getting their official endorsement ("Clemson students are encouraged to use Ubuntu."?

well, that particular model _might_, but my wife's Toyota, with a similar ratcheting foot e-brake, certainly doesn't.
Find the handbrake in this picture: http://www.toyoland.com/images/4runner/limited.jpg
