I shudder to think about the horrible software that people will write by writing a few XML tags.. What Microsoft doesn't realize, and doesn't want to realize, is that syntax is almost inconsequential.. the real difficulty is being able to hold algorithms in you head and specify them clearly without errors...no amount of easy syntax and cute RAD tools is going to make that easier. Granted, RAD tools have their place, but you still need to be able to create and specify solid, logical algorithms. That's why no language in the world will be able to make a programmer out of a PHB. COBOL didn't do it, neither did VB.
I had an old Qualcomm Sprint phone that got bounced off concrete, fell down the stairs, banged against the wall and barely had a scratch. I used to demonstrate its sturdyness for my friends by dropping it on the floor and kicking it. The plastic shell must have been 1/4 of an inch thick.. The only reason I stopped using it is because I wanted a PDA phone...
