Subliminal messages are the work of Satanists and Commie Pinko bastards trying to corrupt America's Christian youth!
Once I learned the TRUTH I BURNED all my Pat Boone and Mandy Moore CD's! MUSIC IS EVIL!
Stop what thou are doing now unless you want to Burn in a Lake of Fire!!!!
I can't speak for other people, but before Radiohead's Amnesiac came out, I had the whole thing in mp3. I liked so much I went and bought the CD anyway, so yes, in my case mp3's made me more likely to buy a CD.
is of course lagging music quality!
If Metallica's St. Anger is not selling like hotcakes it's because it's abject, utter crap, not because you can get it for free on the internet.
If you pay 30 dollars for a digital representation of a diamond ring, then you deserve to be 30 dollars poorer.
Same as people who think coffee is worth 3 bucks a cup, and MS Office is worth 300 bucks.
Even if software development becomes putting lego blocks together, it's not going to make specifying algorithms, keeping track of data structures and debugging any easier.
Billy should know better.
"Fink said that he expects businesses to use Linux where employees only need a few applications, such as in a call center or support center where workers need to access only a database and e-mail."
I have one of the only 2 or 3 Linux desktops in a predominantly Windows environment and I can do considerably more than anyone else.
On the other hand, we're safe as long as Management does not know about the existence of Tux Racer and FreeCiv!
As Fred "Morpheus" Brooks said,
"Don't try to find the silver bullet that will deliver bug free code on schedule and on budget.. instead try to realize the truth, there is no silver spoon!"
I suppose that when Generation Y starts to age a bit and get more purchasing power, we will have
ExtrYm ProgrammYng
Yntegrated Development Environment
Windows YP (and Office YP)
Mac OS Y
and it will be very cool to write compilers using Yacc.
Is there anything more pointy-haired?

Every time I see an X in an acronym my Buzzword warning goes off, unless it is something like Xylophonic Postamble or Xenophobic Mutant Litigation

Budweiser could stand to spend more on malt and hops instead of impressive IT systems...
What's amazing is that they boast about using RICE on their beer!!! Rice is an adjunct that is used in beer to keep costs down and lighten up the body (read: make it more watery)
His whole premise is flawed.. he implies that recent security issues with Microsoft software are due to the fact that you can read the source code of.NET programs... as if Windows and IE were written in.NET...
What about open source then?
That confuses a lot of people, but it actually makes perfect sense. The application (the client) does wha tever it does and requests that X (the server) draw windows, widgets and whatnot. A server listens to requests while a client makes the requests. The X server stands by waiting for applications (clients) to request that something be drawn on the screen.
Seems like this system only makes sense if you design a guitar from the ground up with this in mind, cause I'm not hacking open a 59 Les Paul to put this in, and it's too damn expensive to put it in a $800 Standard Strat.
I tried Garage Band the other day and was very impressed except for the lack of a dedicated MIDI drum editor like Magix Music Studio has. Is there a stand-alone MIDI drum editor for OS X that I can create files with to then import into GB? That's my main gripe with GB. Loops for me is not enough since my drum tracks tend to be fairly busy and very seldom do I have two straight identical drum bars next to each other..
Well, I once went to a Whole Foods store and asked if they had some, they said no but they could get it, so I left them my number. A couple of months later, they told me they had scored a couple of cases.. 10 dollars a bottle, and worth every penny..
Hmm, I've never heard anyone claim that Flemish beer is like dishwater... If dishwater was anything like Flemish beer, I'd drink dishwater all day!
Of course, Westvleteren 12 is the greatest beer in the world.

So, when can we expect Prothon.NET?
Me, I can't wait for Intercal.NET and Brainfuck.NET
I find no confort in being able to watch "My Big Fat Obnoxious Fiance" in HDTV...
I'm up for space exploration and all, but I suppose that a trillion bucks would go a long way towards solving AIDS, cancer, hunger and poverty...
It's not like AOL will be around for long...

Thus, case sensitivity is a Good Thing.
