Are you kidding me? The Gamecube's controller is the best, and the Xbox's and the Dreamcast's controllers are fine too. Because they put the left analog stick in the right place, unlike the Playstation's godawful piece of shit of a controller.

Not the XT, but some food for thought:

Back when IBM was planning their original personal computer (note that "PC" used to mean any personal computer, but the IBM-PC's success hijacked the name), one design they considered was based on the 801, an early RISC processor about 45 times more powerful than the 8088 they ended up using, and their own modern operating system instead of Microsoft's junk... yeah, that's no typo, FOURTY FIVE TIMES more powerful: the 8088 @ 5 MHz did a paltry 0.33 MIPS, while the 801 did 15 MIPS.

Think about it, the PC started with the wrong foot. A broken, twisted, crippled, atrophied foot. How much technological progress did we lose because we had to waste time overcoming the limitations of this super shitty beginning?

The PlayStation's success took a lot of resources, sure, but it was not just "throwing money at it until it works". Sony really got things right while others fucked up: a machine that was easy to code for, versus the super complicated Sega Saturn; and lower costs for third-parties, while Nintendo gouged them to produce N64 carts.

What are you talking about? People were buying Nokia phones! Other than the US, Nokia was the top seller of dumbphones, featurephones, and smartphones pretty much everywhere. Yes, they had some serious internal problems, but their market position was very strong. Even if they had introduced nothing new, if they had kept just selling Symbian phones with gradual improvements, they wouldn't have sunk like they did with Winblows Phoney!
