Again, think of Stallman's roots, and you will see that his definition makes perfect sense. Consider that he came from MIT's AI Lab, from a hacker culture where you built upon others' code, and others built upon yours. That's what Free software means: the code is always available for everyone, and to hinder the code is to hinder everyone's freedom.

Many people wants _real_ freedom for their software

No, they don't. If they did, they'd use GNU GPL v3.

But I think you mean the opposite of what you said: people want to be free to do whatever they want with the software, including taking away the software's freedom.

That's the thing. Free software is not about your freedom, it's about the software's freedom. It is not for the benefit of anyone in particular, it is for the benefit of the whole humanity. When you think about where rms came from, and when you read his writings, you realize that his ideal is not an indifferent "here's some code, use as you wish". It is an ideologically grounded "here's some code, it's for everyone to use, and if you build upon it, the result is also for everyone to use".

I'd have to agree with the old timers, we are being scammed with those new sets. They sell by the hypotenuse, but the honest measurement would be the area (width x height). Wide? More like short. It's a way to sell smaller screens with more "inches". If I found a new 4:3 plasma screen, you bet I'd get it!

Not really. It would be more akin to removing the entire head of the penis rather than just the foreskin.

Not all forms of female genital cutting involve clitoridectomy; some of them are basically the same as, or even less invasive than male circumcision. But all of them are illegal in any civilized nation. If all people are supposed to have equal rights, male cutting is a crime just the same.

Circumcision has at least some benefit

Nope. Fanatics and mutilation fetishists will keep tossing that "benefits" bullshit around, but do not believe them. The "cure looking for a disease" has no confirmed discernible benefit. Every study in that direction is found to be heavily flawed. Real life numbers tell otherwise - for example, in several African countries, HIV rates are higher among circumcised men. So, where's that magical protection it was supposed to provide?

The -only- purpose for female castration is to reduce their sexual pleasure to a low enough level that they won't feel the desire to have sex with men.

Oh, did you really think the very purpose of circumcision is not reducing pleasure for everyone?

Nope. I heard circumcision may even cause premature ejaculation, as you have less "feedback", meaning less control... also, circumcision increases attrition in sex, making it less pleasant for women as well, even painful. I even read some testimonials from females (not sure how legit these are) who wondered how any woman could tolerate living with a cut man.

Pseudoscience, you mean. Circumcision is not connected with cancer prevention at all. On the other hand, this is a procedure that destroys half the penile skin (it is double-layered, keep in mind), and more precisely its most erotically sensitive bits , so it's no surprise that it is clearly linked to erectile dysfunction . Oh, how about over a hundred baby deaths , every year, in the USA alone, or life-lasting psychological effects ?

As a mutilated man, I'd fully support a return to Hadrian's law: a total ban, under penalty of death. Stern, but fair!

Both licenses are "free" in terms of you can use the software without paying. The difference is that any works derived or using GPL type licenses also have to be released on the same license.

Then you don't get what Free software means. Free is not about price, but freedom. But wait, there's more. It is not about a developer's freedom, or an user's freedom, to do whatever they want. There is one good reason why their freedom can't be unlimited:

Free is about the code 's freedom.

Free Software means the code is available to all, any improvements will be available to all, and no one may stop that. "Permissive" licenses allow one the freedom to use the code, do improvements, and not pass them on; essentially, to turn it into proprietary software. Which goes against the spirit and purpose of the Free Software movement.
