The first 'Star Wars' Film owes a lot more to other films than to Joseph Campbell.
1. "Hidden Fortress" Basic plot 2. "Guns of the South Pacific" Escape from the Death Star sequence 3. "Metropolis" Hi, Threepio 4. "Triumph of the Will" Closing scene etc.
The plot was fundimentally that of a pulp western.
Itwas an intentional pastiche of every pulp cliche in film, and intentionally so. An early interview quoted Lucas as saying "It's really all about people liking dumb movies."
If this guy doesn't pass his Cisco exam, will he turn into a pool of iridescent goo and be claimed by Nyarlathotep? It would almost make up for his horrible writing.
You have to run faster and faster to stay in one place. The tasks that are done in the office nowadays often had no equivalent 20 years ago. Things like fact checking over the web for writing about a subject as foreign to the offices of 1980 as a slide rule is to 1999. The waters are uncharted, and look to be that way for awhile.
Ugh, I can't *believe* so many RP'ers are concentrated in one/. topic and this is the most imflammatory troll someone can come up with. HeeHee. Yes, we're all losers. Grossly overweight. Yeah, sure...we're all in league with Satan too(until MS buys them out)! Why, the other day I broke into a church and filled the altar service with peas and carrots...I make crank calls to the 700 Club claiming to be Hell's lawyer after royalties! You know, I could ramble on, but bandwidth is sacred. I shall sum up: "When you can grab the irony from my hand, Grasshopper, then you will be ready to troll" or possibly "Methinks you protest too much."
The AV-8 Harrier II is manufactured by McDonnell-Douglas. The Harrier MK I was manufactured by Hawker-Siddely (sp?) and the MK II was going to be a joint project. However, the two nations requirements diverged well into the project. Hence the MK II is only in current use by the USMC.

"Let's sing..." Well, you know the rest.

There are some overseas users of the MK II, but I can't find a listing of the UK being among them.
I'd use them both to break into churches to fill the altar services with peas and carrots.
No, I'm sorry...I was going to say something serious...I swear.
Oh yeah, has this guy seen 'True Lies' one two many times, or what?

There is a difference between funny things that are intelligent, and things that are intended to be intelligent that come off as funny.
Not really, but...dammit! :^)
