Good to see a company holding a large patent portfolio openly announcing that it will basically nuke any target big enough to hit (includes most software companies) that attacks Linux.
Don't expect the corporate media to let it be wildly known that the two parties had their pitiful opposition arrested for trying to be included in the process. It would be un-American to let the public know about truly un-American things happening . . . . . .

Depends. Are they based somewhere civilized?
*checks*
Nope. Their hosting provider has a 212 area code. New York is hardly civilized. Also, it's in DMCA jurisdiction. (Though jurisdiction didn't seem to be an issue for the FBI and Indymedia.)
No, you're not. Most people's brains use a reading shortcut where it grabs the letters at the start and end of the word and then infers what the word is based on that. "Phonographic" starts with a P and ends with "graphic." I litterally have to go letter by letter to resolve the word correctly.
I think that the existance of this mutation has been known for some time. The key is that it was only thought to exist in the caucasian population until now.

Sometimes it pays to have cases salvagd from the trash. I'd like to see you impulsively do something like that neon-tubing, uv-glow, chrome-fan-guard boys . . . . . . . .
I spit coffee on my monitor when I read that headline. Since the site appears to be melted: HOW THE SHIT DO YOU MAKE OSX WORK ON AN XBOX?! Aren't there a whole mess of arcitechture problems associated with doing that?
I never want to buy one of these newfangled cars that have more electronics than a hacker's apartment. It can have EFI and DIS, those aren't gonna do much harm if they go nuts. ABS is okay too because those units failsafe to full breaking power at the first hint of trouble. Other than those I'd like to keep my clutch, gears, steering, and non-abs-mode breaking on manual control.
No, it just proves what we would have already assumed: your average Windows user is just as inept in covering their tracks as they are in locking down their box.
To say nothing of his assertions that "God speaks through me." Psychosis can be brought about by brain damage due to drug abuse, and thinking you're some kind of fucking messiah sure seems like delusional psychosis to me . . . . .
I ran this thing last night forgetting that Firefox was installed to a location that user accounts can't write to.
Seeing the error mesage and remembering this fact I lit Firefox as root and ran the update. This left Firefox mangled and incapiable of downloading things from the user accounts.
The moral of the story: do be careful using the update thingy. Now, off to fill out a bug report.
Who finds this version numbering scheme damn confusing? The actual program calls itself 1.0PR but the directory structure on the Mozilla server and CowboyNeal call it 0.10.1. Anyone care to explain what's going on here?
It will be very interesting to see how long it takes to make the MPAA & company feel safe....
The MPAA will feel safe between the time that that some company or another sells them a "bulletproof" DRM system and three weeks later when somebody hacks the thing in the name of fair use, consequently letting the Kazaa monkeys at it.
properly packaged distros usually do not require a kernel compile.
They don't require it to function, but the stock kernels are typically compiled for 486 or 586. Personally I like my kernel to be taking advantage of CPU features introduced after that rather than treating my P4 as a really fast P1.

Porn fucks you!

It obviously doesn't work for the RIAA, so why take the political heat?

We have that now.

want to take a guess as to what the other format is for my stolen music?
iTunes downloads that you "liberated" from their DRM and his computer why he was away?

Soon, if (err, when) I'm speeding my car will, most helpfully, notice this fact and print out a $90 ticket for me to sign.
Actually, I'd take that one to court. If only to see them try to get my car on the whitness stand . . . . .

So, when's the perjury trial?
When hell freezes over and the Cubs face the Red Sox in the world series. Ashcroft would probably have to bring the case.

The puppet prime minister of the puppet government of a half-conquered nation is saying what his puppet boss' bosses tell him.
I for one welcome our puppet overlords.
You mean like in that little acid trip with the demons and the anticrist and everyone dying multiple times? :P
Reminds me of thinkgeek's hazing when they entered our world . . . . .
Why worry? Do we really need rednecks anyway? Let Darwin do his job.
Naw, Slackware. I only compile system components from source if it actually makes a difference.
Kernel: yes. Lame, oggenc, flac: yes. Mencoder, transcode: yes. Gaim: no.
That tech-savy girls would be smart enough to set their sights on a better target than prince William . . . .
