    the job still exists, it's just called different things. since nowadays most sites of any significance are dynamic you are either an administrator or developer.

    if you just to page designs you are a 'wed developer' if you maintain the backend you are an administrator

    in summary, the job specialized into different fields because web sites are too diverse in nature for one job description to cover maintaining all the different types

    that blurred photo is entirely consistant with areas lacking the deatiled photos and falling back to lower res satelite photographs. if the other areas were done with planes and that area was either missed, or the plane was instructed not to fly over the dam for whatever reason, those images would have been missing.

    sometimes areas look censored due to a lack of high rez imagery, the river through my hometown had some patches along it really badly blurred that covered part of the community college i was attending, it wasn't a result of anything nefarious, there weren't any images available to google at the time at good resolutions so they used some crude sat photos which barely could make out land/river boundries, let alone man made structures

    Gimp allows you to see your text on the image as you type.

    the GIMP interface is better than photoshop unless you have learned photoshop first.
    the price comparison does hold because by being free GIMP can be acquired trivially on any internet connected computer. whatever version of photoshop you use, if you are visiting someone across the country and need/want to do some image work you are SOL if you depend on photoshop.

    also the vast majority of photoshop users are criminals.

    the Wii plays just fine at 480P using Component cables from nintendo.

    the "lack of HD" is really lack of 720 and 1080 resolutions, though supposedly the hardware could put out 720i but nintendo doesn't allow it in firmware because game performance would be unacceptable at those resolutions

    you can cite a particular instance of a wikipedia page from the page you want to cite click history then the date at the top of the list of revisions

    not that you should be citing an encyclopedia anyways, but it is entirely possible as long as the page doesn't get VfD'd between the time you cite it and when you turn in your paper.

    Live phone wires! Try live electrical wires! I can recall at least two instances of people attempting to steal electrical transmission line or, even better, transformers, as those are full of tons of wire. fortunately they have been electrocuted!

    the loss in profit due to constant complaints at the registers and service desk would put an end to that. even just 30 seconds of complaining on average (the first 20 people just bend over and take it, but the next guy blows his top and yells for 10 minutes) would waste more than the 2.5c/order

    it's not illegal for anyone to print their own form of money, however only federal money has the force of law behind it. a merchant can accept whatever alternate forms of money they wish, but a buyer cannot require a debtor to accept payment except in dollars, unless a contract exists between the debtor and creditor specifying some other form of payment.

    not entirely the same, but http://www.urbandead.com/ allows you to play as a zombie or human, zombies just spend action points to get up, while humans turn into zombies and have to be revivified with a syringe by another human player.

    dedicated zombie players can get the ability "brain rot" to eliminate the chance of being revivified against their will except in certain buildings when a generator is running.
