Yep. I could buy from someone else. The problem is that essentially all hardware is pre installed with windows by default. At least in places like Germany you can get a refund on the OEM OS. But esentially I think that the agreements between Intel, MS and hardware manufacturers is not the best at this point in time. I suppose that in order to kick start the industry it made a bit of sense ... who knows.

Last year I had a customer using SQL Server for a database project and they wished to use the REST functionality of executing stored procedures directly from a URI (Intranet Site). I have to wonder if this donation thing is not being overplayed. The entertainment industry, since deregulation of the media/newspapers/radio/..., owns many news services. If you do not play ball they can do exhaustive coverages of your every mistake, editorials can always be slanted and events you desire to be covered ignored. All candidates require the media to get their contrived image across to as many potential voters as possible, this requires the media. Just think poor president Ford and how often they showed him either stumbling, bumping his head etc. Everyone makes mistakes, a friendly media may not air a single one, but you can bet a hostile media will hunt their prey relentlessly.
