I wonder which part of "do unto others as you would have them do unto you" or "You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye" he doesn't understand.
Funny how nearly all of our public figures who espouse Christianity (including the guy in the White House) conveniently forget these teachings.
Well, Christ is said to have gone willingly to the cross. I wonder if Jack will follow that example? It looks like he's trying to cut a deal with those he perceives as his Pilate.
I hope he gets a reprieve and rethinks his tactics to achieve what is arguably a reasonable goal (decreasing the exposure of children to violent games.)
Sorry to bring up religious philosophy in a tech discussion board,;-)
Yes that will work if you only need to prove negligence, and not purposeful behavior.
But if you can prove, speaking hypothetically, intentional homicide, and you decide that you'll just go for negligent homicide, you're a lazy prosecutor.
What I'm saying is: "blaming incompetence won't do / when it lets the crooks skate through."
Myspace has twice as many accounts. Or did you mean first to have an API? Well, that's true, but they don't have years of being ahead of the game there, and on top of that, we're talking about an open API from Google.... !
I agree with your observation, but there is another good reason for limiting iPhone development to webapps: security. With only Safari as the platform for 3rd party apps, there is a much smaller set of APIs to secure against a malicious app essentially being able to spy on every phone call, email; even mascarade as the person.
Spot on. This is exactly what needs to be done in these sorts of cases. Show the patent itself is bullshit because it merely takes a real world process or metaphor and then tacks on some variant of "on the computer" or "on the Internet".
> I think its an exceedingly poor idea from a PR perspective.
I completely disagree. The world is NOT the United States. The opinions of the citizens of the world about the fortunes of Cuba do not necessarily align with the opinions of the Republicans in America.
Many in the world believe that Cuba has been hurt more by the actions of the United States than by Castro. If you travel to Europe, you will likely hear a very different opinion of Castro and the history of Cuba.
And even in this country, many are changing their minds about who has caused the Cubans to suffer most.
So please don't confuse the PR perspective of the World from the PR perspective of the G.O.P.

Such cynicism; but you do have a low user ID, so I'll give it a pass as perhaps the voice of a soul beaten down by actual slashvertisements. Perhaps you should read the article and give the content a chance? Yes?
"Subjective review", eh? Reviews are always subjective. Sounds like you want benchmarking, or a table of specifications, not a review. You realize that your comment itself is subjective, and you are reviewing the review?
>Why should I even finish reading your review if that's the first thing you say?
You appear to be speaking directly to the author there, and I'm not the author of the review, but the answer is obvious: because it is valuable feedback on the product. Microsoft -- as a company mindset -- tunes out all criticism, and the result is the Zune.
Thinking back to running Copy ][+ or Locksmith on my Apple ][+, or boot-tracing to defeat copy protection routines... it's all the same old song and dance, just 25 years later and with far more people affected.
Spot on. I'd also recommend they purchase Parallels, integrate it into Leopard, and work to make it accelerate a virtual 3d graphics card with OpenGL.
That way gamers that switch to a Mac for future games won't see their old games disappearing, and the occasional app that they still need to run under XP will run without using BootCamp.

:)
Just a thought; of course I'm guessing.
Between this and the VOIP / vonage thing, I wouldn't buy a service or product from Verizon even if it was a better deal or product.
Corporate America at its finest.
Vista is a Pinto with a jet engine mounted on it backwards, painted Zune Brown, with a dealer-installed decal on the side that says "XTREME!!!"
:)
Note: not a troll nor flamebait; just having fun here with the analogy.
A troll rating?
For pointing out that two sites sharing the last 8 bits of the IP address are neighbors (not physically natch) and not some random coincidence?
Geesh. You can close your eyes, but that don't make it highly suspicious.
Yeah, they're just Internet neighbors who never talk. Pure coincidence. I think Ohio asked RNC for a cup of sugar once, but that's it.

Funny, I would have called it "extortion." But then I'm not a lawyer (yet).
(Enough said.)
... my fellow students are about all that keeps me sane. I can't imagine attacking them.

How silly. I already know the future will have bigger problems then archeology.

Hilarious.!!!!.
It's either that or "developersdevelopersdevelopers"
