Most scientists, beyond their own personal belief system, are not concerned with trying disprove the existence of God, as it is a logical impossibility to disprove existence. You're setting up a straw man here.

    as for...

"Let us ask the question few dare to ask; can science prove/disprove the existence of Deity? How does one find logically and quantifiable evidence that is viable to that end?"

    try this...

Let us ask the question few dare to ask; can science prove/disprove the existence of the flying spaghetti monster? How does one find logically and quantifiable evidence that is viable to that end?

    or this...

Let us ask the question few dare to ask; can science prove/disprove the existence of purple Unicorns on Neptune? How does one find logically and quantifiable evidence that is viable to that end?

Let me try and help you out of this quandry. Is there any evidence for the existance of a supernatural being? If you think there is then feel free to worship as you please, also I would be interested in hearing about this evidence. If not then any belief is irrational. We are all born Atheists. And I'd hazard a guess that you are also an Atheist regarding most irrational religious beliefs you have been exposed to.

I suffer from clinical depression and I know that when I'm having a bad day. I can barely get it together to read a book. let alone be bothered playing video games.

"climates are very large and complex structures", couldn't agree more. Almost every other day I hear about some seemingly non-related system that has yet another potential effect on the Earths climate. The latest included the finding that forests planted at lower latitudes result in a net atmospheric temperature increase due to the lowering of the albedo at these latitudes, another study was showing evidence supporting the cyclical increase in the suns energy output.
One thing I am sure of, is that Earths climate is a dynamic system that we are still learning about, and if we go off half cocked we could cause more damage than good.

I'm not really up to date on the whole process of scientific publishing or peer review, but from glancing through the comments I got the impression that this whole process is similar to the peer review process that operates on Wikipedia. It seems that what is needed is a centralised service that accepts research for review and publication that is neutral and freely available, sounds like a Wiki to me? Is it just a case of kudos in the scientific community whereby a publication in a journal like Nature holds far more value even though the research in question may be no more thouroughly reviewed than if it was published in a Wiki? I find the situation now quite ironic, considering the early days of the internet where the majority of the content I could find from a text only lynx browser were scientific research papers.
