  1. Re:DRM on TiVo to Mac Users: Buzz Off · · Score: 1

I got the files off my TiVo but I can't for the life of me figure out how to use ffmpegX to convert them to work on my PSP. Is it so against the law and evil that I want to watch Robot Chicken on my PSP from my TiVo??

Panther 7b85 has iCal 1.5.1 but iSync 1.2.0, Software update does pick up iSync 1.2.1 on Panther though. The Drawer is great, its easier to get more work done, Camino's auto expanding trick would be a welcomed addition however. The pop up window was a pain because it disapeared when you clicked over to another application but still wanted to read your notes in iCal!!

I agree, if the majority of people in America and a majority of artists support listening to MP3s before you buy a CD then it should be legal. The RIAA lobbyists should be illegal. When did our countries priorities get so f'd up?

They have an 800 number. ( 1-800-BAD-BEAT ) Lets All call it everyday. And waste their time. They have to pay for the call, and someone on the other end to take a report possibly. I know they claim that file sharing is illegal but I do not see any difference from that to copying songs to a mix tape, to simply having freinds over and all listening to my stereo. If it is truely art, then why not let everyone enjoy it. Listening to an mp3 you dowloaded does not STOP you from also buying the CD. They are NOT mutually exclusive. Or supporting artists in other ways, (think Fugazi... Merchadise)

We won the war for USED CDs, we can win this one too. Don't lose the faith!

New new Macs at Macworld... Its too soon to rev any of the lines, except MAYBE an iMac price drop or speed boost. BUT...

New Xserve and XRAID with firewire 2, 800Mbps for RAID makes sense. And those who need that much RAID can afford the new technology.

Video iPod, unlikely. Color iPod, maybe. More likely to see something that allows us to connect our Macs full of mp3s to our stereo over Airport.

I am hoping for an 802.11g Card with built in BlueTooth. This would allow Apple to sell BT Mice and Keyboards, and allow ALL recent Macs a cheap upgrade to BT! Also new base station.. maybe it will have a few surprises!

MacWorld was way cool back when I was in college, we went every year, it was a blast. But that was 1992. Now we have the "internet" and MacWorld is pretty muh useless except for the KeyNote product release movie. Fuck it, just broadcast a Quicktime movie of Jobs and let people download the same demos they would get at the show. Hell from what I hear nobody even gives out free t shirts anymore. Why bother?

Apple really needs a product that allows you to sync your iBook/Powerbook back to your iMac/G4 Tower at the end of a day. I hate having 2 home Directories... and losing contacts.. or not having my full iPhoto library with me. Keeping your home dir on a MacOS X Server doesn't do much in this case either.

After you get past about 20 or so you use, the rest either suck or are of no use to you! For instance, even if no one made anotehr Paint program or Text editor for the Mac, i would stil be happy cause i think BBEdit and Photoshop satisfy my needs perfectly. And on linux, even if no one ports there Application Server, PHP3 works great for me, better than ANY shrinkwrapped package i have seen. And are we forgetting, Perl? DO we need a shrinkwrapped package for Perl now? Give it up Microsoft, number of peices of crap software != value of system.
