I am now in my 40s and have begun the internal discussion of "is it time to look at management"? It seems all us old timers from the dial up days and aol have realized the next generation is here to take control of the technical and let us old guys run the company. Just like any family, the grandpa will stop doing the work and just let the grandkid do it while he takes naps and just points to what he wants the kid to do.

  2. Need an amendment on Clinton Responds To WikiLeaks During Debate, And Blames Russian Hackers (qz.com) · · Score: 0

Congress needs to change the constitution via an amendment to stop anyone who is a direct relative (wife, son, daughter) of a previous president to be unable to become president. I am 40 years old and a Bush or Clinton have been in or close to the whitehouse almost my entire life. 350 million Americans and basically for the last half century two / three families have ran the country. This amendment would have stopped GW Bush and now have stopped Hillary, who can argue that he will have no influence on her hence giving him his 3rd term? There are now rumors that Michelle O is looking at a run for the Senate and I will bet she will follow in her husbands steps and as soon as elected start her run for President and or the Clinton's are getting Chelsea ready for her run. Seems the Bush's are out of family members looking to run but I will bet we will hear of some other Bush soon. We need to stop this trend. Also putting in term limits for Congress AND Supremes would also ensure a health turn over of elected officials but that will never happen. my 2cents

I should have stating my case better. I should have stated this from the home users perspective. A user has a winxp pro machine running RDP and this said user connects to this machine from work or school as a place to do work or homework or whatever. The hard drive in this machine dies and he is screwed. That is what I meant, should never have used the words terminal servers. :)

  4. Re:Um... on Jumping From Computer To Computer · · Score: 0

This is revolutionary because it does not rely on one machine like with VNC/RDP. When you RDP to a terminal server you run the risk of that terminal servers dying and thus lossing your data and settings in the process. With this, your information is stored on multile machines that are not firewalled or only accessable via a domain controller like most work enviroments. It is a great idea for on the road workers in the respect that they can access information pertaining to a sell or whatever from anywhere without the hassel of RDP or VNC.

Thats because NYC is the biggest left city in the country. If the right had its way half of the people in NYC would be homeless since "the spreading of the wealth" is the only way people survive in NYC.

Well I guess we have now become a people of propaganda during election time instead of face to face debates, kinda reminds me of Nazi films in a way. Sad

  7. Spam - a double edged sword for ISPs on Infected Windows PCs Now Source Of 80% Of Spam · · Score: 1, Interesting

I work for a small ISP and spam is the cause for most of my headaches. We run many different spam and virus filters and they work great but each time we crank the screws down a little with more filtering we get bombarded with calls about it. Seems that people complain about getting spam and when we reduce it more they complain about that because the filters may filter one of their love letters to their mom or whatever. You just can't win I guess.
