"self-consciousness (the realization that we are naked), and most interesting to me, pain in childbirth because of our big brain-holding heads." Yes, I find this interesting too.

I'm wondering if it's the consciousness of the proximity of birth that led to intelligence (in the way that it's looking at the future and seeing that something will be like that, so we must take care of this or that). I believe the greatest difference between us and the rest of the animal kingdom maybe that we do project ourselves in time (winter is coming) and in space (there is another tribe there, they move slowly, in a month they will be there). We do it in a conciously way, at a level unseen in the (other) animals, wich seem to rely more on instinct. Okay. that's not a very scientific way of approching
the question. But I'd like to hear your opinion on this hypothese.

(sorry for my bad english, eh I'm french).

I don't think we can call it "legalizing" because there is a fee for everyone: some people say it can be 6 or 7 euros. 6 or 7 euros???? That's too much!!!!

Since when shall we pay for sharing files?
What about people who don't download copyrighted and restricted materials?

yeah I'm from France and I don't think these are good news.

More on, as a Linux user, I surely don't want an antivirus for windows in the bios!

I haven't played much with the feature on the Linux side, can it be turned off on a font-by-font basis? It would be nice to turn antialiasing on for "fancy" fonts, and turn it off on well-hinted fonts"

    hi.
Of course it's possible. The relevant file are fonts.conf or local.conf, both in /etc/fonts (at least in Debian, otherwise do a "locate fonts.conf" to find them).
It may be not easy, but look at the Bitstream Vera fonts section, it will help you turn antialiasing on/off.

as said another poster before, it's _locally_ exploitable. But you know, physical access to a machine is not far from having all privileges.
You can log on as root without knowing the password.

Anyway I agree it's a bug. But not exactly the same sort.

It's not always a question of efficiency. If I am (over)powerful, I can low the price of my product until your are out of the market. I could sell under the cost of making it (at a loss). Only when your enterprise no longer exist, I rise my prices up, to the point I choose, because there is no more competition.

    Disgusting, isn't it?
It's called dumping, I think. And it's forbiden in certains countries... thanks to regulatory laws.
