In all this talk about tracking every file transfer to protect the rights of music publishers I think I'd have more sympathy for them if they'd disclose what percentage went to whom.
One is much less likely to pirate a song if one can know the impact it has on a beloved artist.
So how about it RIAA, as a good will jesture. Show us how much of these royalties actually get back to the artist. My back bristles at paying some slick production company $$$$ when Chuck Berry gets $.00000002.
Why don't they launch a similar tracking project to show us that we really impact artists not just record companies?
I didn't think so...
Demanding that the user have the right to refuse all these plugins is a huge improvement! I don't trust Microsoft to automate this for me.
Change all the Browsers then lets create a "User Environment Envelope" that automates these things. Make the envelope multiplatform and standards based and Voila we'll be thanking Ceolas.
Its the Morphix Light desktop.
Its GTK2 based and keeps its configuration data is XML.
I recommend the Bluefish editor as your first proggie to go with it.
On the theory that Canadians don't self promote:)
Here is a picture of the damn thing from the York Computer museum.

This really goes well with their subscription rates and open access to your wallet. With DRM not only can they charge what they want but limit who you can buy from.
At some point even the DOJ must wake up -- oh yeah, Bush.

Wow, Write that Microsoft dominance hurts the country. Get fired for insulting Microsoft with company name.
Headline should have read:
Writer gets burnt @Stake.
This looks seriously bad for everyone concerned.

Why knows if Debian lurks in the hearts of men.... The Penguin knows! Debian redefined Linux for me.
