in Sweden Nordbankens ATM's run OS/2. I saw one rebooting and rebooting one day in Stockholm. Must have been something wrong with in. But Im sure it runs much better the Föreningssparbanken's ATM, they use WindowsNT and its dog slow.. you get lag when you enter the PIN-numbers. Sometimes they crash and you cant use them. Pretty strange to see a "out of virtual memory" on an ATM machine.
I seem to remeber Apple using telnet for remote admin on MOSX but in the apache screenshot it says SSH. Have they switched?? "One World, One Web, One Program" - Microsoft Promotional Ad
Im a web developer I dont know C/C++ good enough
to make a web-app with it. But with asp/php I can make several in a very short time frame. But the relative ease of programming will bite you in the ass if you dont have a good head and can structure your code in a good way. ASP/Vbscript is a big reason for this. Many people without any programming skills will try to make a web-application and the result will often be very bad! "One World, One Web, One Program" - Microsoft Promotional Ad

I getting so sick of this RH bashing that some people think are cool here at slashdot. All the software RH writes is released under the GPL and they support lots of projects with men/machine/money .
They are one of the biggest contributers to the open source community and they give money back to the community and this makes them bad???? I really dont understand this!!
BUT! back to the story..
If you just read the about this you will see that is Mark Ewing and Bob Young as persons that are giving away the money. I guess they are spending some of the money they earned when RH IPO:ed.

like re-configurating X or changing your timezone? I know you can run Xconfigurator or whatever but it would be really nice to be able to change it all from withing Helix Gnome.
Also.. What is happening with linuxconf?? The last time I used it had great potential but was a UI nightmare. Are anyone working on
improving it.. or are anyone making something better??
I really, really like the way these screenshots look but according to the article DnD didn't work so they seem to be a bit behind in some areas
I for one would love to have sucha enviroment on my linux workstation, it really *looks* polished..

You dont seem to understand the differnce between games and professional work. Tell me ONE single professional 3D program that run on Linux, (except Houdini). The O2 came out in 1996/1997 and you are comparing a 200Mhz O2 made for _modelling_ with a brand new 500Mhz ( or what you got ) P3 with a brand new graphics-card,made for games That's like comparing apples and oranges!
And the fact that DD rendered Titanic on Linux doesn't say shit cause rendering is all about CPU-number-crunching and you only need an os that doesn't crash every second and doesnt cost and arm and a leg, so they could have used *BSD instead of Linux
What kinda of crack are you smoking to be calling Sweden a corrupt third country? At least here we dont go around killing eachother in school with AK47:s...
I think the FlexLM ( a common License Manager ) checks the MAC-adress of your ethernet-card to check the license. MIPS CPU's also got serial numbers that you can tie into the License manager.
It seams strange that a new multimedia system will only have 32MB RAM as standard. It should atleast have 64Mb if not 128Mb. Am I the only one thats thinks this is a little strange ?( For gods sake it got a 32Mb gfx-card !!)

They are using a Permedia2 based card which is a nice OpenGL-card for non-games software, atleast in NT. I hope that 3dlabs get there act together and will start making sure their hardware will be hardware-accelerated in XFree86. Wouldn't mind getting a Oxygen-card for use with Maya ( I just hope AW will port it someday).
