Perhaps see if you can get in the NeosisGUI beta. It looks very interesting:

You write the GUI in XAML, and the rest of the API is C++. It's all 3D, and is built on top of OpenGL and DirectX. It looks mega fast.
For rapid prototyping, perhaps consider Processing. It is essentially Java, with some nice APIs, and a rendering context already setup for you.

since only a few years ago. The comments on this story are very disappointing.
Am I the only who realizes that the AOL guy was actually probably trying to help, and that the fool in all of this was Vincent?
The account was being used, and not by Vincent et el. It was probably hijacked. He was probably just trying to tell Vincent that the strange usage would suggest that his account was hijacked.
Vincent probably went into the phone call expecting difficulty, and took an arrogant attitude from the start. He is obviously an impatient fool, and this could possibly come back and bite him in the ass if the hijacker was doing illegal things with his account. What an idiot.
This is kind of good in a way. Maybe the PS 3 will be a horrible failure because of this nonsense, and content distributors will finally realize that they shouldn't screw their consumers. It's a shame though, I was looking forward to the PS 3, but as a consumer I'm not going to buy into this garbage.
I timed my blinking so that i blocked out the gory picture, I was still unable to identify the rotated image. Perhaps the pictures were just flashed to fast.
I can see this as a problem with the average home owner. If they can't configure their wireless router to be secure, how can we expect them to configure their gateway computer to be secure (such as a secure password)?
Out of the box security is going to be really imporant.

Nice Dumbledore reference!

... except electronic text books are cheaper than hard copy text books, so the cost is offset.
This is one of those times where I am proud to actually be Canadian.
