  1. Idiots on Oregon Testing Pay-Per-Mile Driving Fee To Replace Gas Tax · · Score: 2

There is plenty of money from gas taxes to maintain the roads. The problem is, the highway "trust" (LOL) fund is used as a personal savings account by politicians for their pet projects. Things like millions of dollars spent on bike trails and other assorted earmarks that have nothing to do with road maintenance.

Frankly, it's complete bullshit. The systems are completely, physically separate. There is no way to hack the thrust from the in-flight entertainment system because they are not connected to each other. The most he'd be able to do is turn on the fasten seatbelt sign.

Would you care to provide some links to support your claim? I mean what I assume is your claim that Microsoft wrote an amicus brief supporting Oracle in the lawsuit. There is no such thing as being 'an amicus'.

I can find many supports showing Microsoft in support of an appeal of the case, including a posted story right here on Slashdot

I can find zero stories about them being in support of Oracle.

    Yes.

And amicus is the correct term.

Microsoft was an amicus supporting Oracle in their efforts to copyright APIs.

Now they want to turn around and do the exact same thing, only for Android and iOS. And to top that all off, their entire success is based on the fact that they were able to rip off the CP/M APIs and clone them for IBM and do so for much cheaper than what DR wanted.

  9. I have no plans to adopt HTTP/2. The mandatory fauxcryption (as implemented in the browsers) is a dealbreaker. Certificates are nothing but a scam and they certainly aren't trustworthy since the CAs are subject to the whims of cybercriminals and governments. All this does is increase the barrier to entry for having your own webpage.
