  1. Re:hypocritical of stallman? on Hackers, Slackers, and Shackles · · Score: 0

The entire point of Stallman's views is that software is very different from other creative works in that it is used for a practical purpose. Making the source of a program available to users under a free(libre) license is the only way to respect their rights. He has stated many times that he supports copyrights, he just doesn't want copyright to be used to violate the rights of users. Music and art are very different things than software and should be treated differently.

The ability to release someones code under a proprietary license in not FREEDOM, it is POWER. It violates the freedom of users for the limited benefit of a few.

There is no scientific theory to challenge evolution. The "evidence" presented by that site and all others supporting creationism is not scientific. The reason evolution is held in such high regard is that it has 150 years of evidence and scientific study supporting it. There is simply no scientific theory to oppose it. It's true. Life evolves. Get over it.

In short, the downstream and upstream share a buffer; if the buffer becomes full (i.e. maxxed out your upload capacity) then both streams will suffer. As the guy pointed out, Azureus (and other clients) will allow you to throttle your upstream.
Nope, You ack packets are just being delayed by your upload. No imaginary buffers. Try prioritizing your outgoing ack packets, it will do the same thing as throttling your upload.

Gas or oil are at least twice as efficient
Are you talking about electric furnaces, because they are virtually 100% efficient. Very simple as well, just a coil and fan, therefor highly reliable. They are, however, still more EXPENSIVE than oil or gas, but that has only to do with the price of those energy sources.
