Because at the moment nuclear fission has been proven to work for power generation while nuclear fusion is still in labs and is not a net power generator yet.
Parent his the nail right on the head. If my cable company offered a decent VoD service to watch episodes of series that I missed for whatever reason, I would have no motivation to download said episodes. Also, pay per view VoD doesn't appeal to me as a solution since I've already paid to have access to the show via my subscription fee.
Note, I have tried to setup a PVR solution, but haven't managed to implement a satisfactory solution yet, TiVo wasn't an option for me since I'm in Canada, and my cable company (Rogers) has crappy DVRs.
Last I heard, everything on the Internet already has an address. Since we have these things called databases, we can match up a MAC address and a billing acount, why the heck can't we get all these combined together? Of course, we'd all need to have a static IP address, and we all know that that's impossible unless you pay extra.
Just one little problem with this, MAC addresses are never seen outside of a network, they are only used inside a network. And static IPs don't help if someone takes their phone adapter with them on a business trip either.
Absolutely, but don't forget about some of the variations such as Gas Core Nuclear Rockets, I merely pointed out NERVA as a program that had done work in the field.
Ok, the parent post is obviously well though out, but misses one critical thing. Better engines were being developed back in the 60's and early 70's, the NERVA program attempted to design a nuclear rocket engine.
There is no reason to assume that chemical propulsion is the only solution available.
And how is it bad if the government installs a common (and massively overengineered) infrastructure and then allows private corporations to sell services over said infrastructure?
I think the point is that because the person in question is working smarter, why should he wind up getting paid the same as his co-workers while being more productive?
I don't think anybody is arguing that we shouldn't increase productivity, the argument here is that finding an innovative solution to a problem thus increasing your productivity should be rewarded.
If you have an environment in which working smarter merely results in you doing more work for the same pay as the people who are doing less work where is the incentive to be more productive?
When you are behind NAT and you want to run 2 webservers, only one of them can sit on port 80 AS VISIBLE TO THE OUTSIDE WORLD.
What you can do (if you're too lazy to change one of the server configs) is to use your lovely router doing the NAT to translate port requests to another port, say 81 to port 80 on the second webserver. The problem with this is that people outside the network have to know and be able to send a request to port 81 to hit the second server.

This can come in handy in college environments
Last semester I was taking notes for a deaf student, because I was doing them electronically, it was easy for me to copy them to multiple people via email.
If I hadn't had a laptop, my own notes would have been of much lower quality, and I would not have been able to provide notes to others.
If you want a few games that require more thinking you may want to take a quick look at Naval Ops Commander. However most strategy games seem to be for PC at the moment, something about keyboard and mouse, oh yes, and higher resolution displays... (though that may change with the new generation consoles, though I doubt it personally)
I would point out that neither projector you mentioned is actually capable of HDTV resolution, it would have to scale it down.
Though I do not know of any projectors that can do 1080i, there are several that can handle 720p, you may want to look into one of those for a better movie-watching experience.
Try using nothing larger than a few loonies and a crapload of quarters and smaller to make up about $12 in change.
(4-day long weekend, banks closed, busy movie theater, we ran out of 5s.)
Thankfully that's fewer tax dollars spent on a program that is easily funded by private dollars. We've seen numerous slashdot articles in recent months that prove that our public dollars should no longer be used for advancing scientific studies outside of our atmosphere.
So it's better to spend these same tax dollars on a war instead?
This is rather insightful IMHO.
Don't forget Red Flag Deals if you're a Canadian.

Welcome our new lease paying nuclear reactor overlords.

If they're completely inflexible do you really want to work for Hugenormous Pan-galactic Deathcorp Inc.?
Can I at least have a few Pan-Galactic Gargle Blasters first?

Why should person A who can do twice the work actually do twice the work if he gets the same pay as person B so long as they both meet quota?

NAT and PAT both apply.

Just avoid Stavromula Beta...
