Actually, I have had one mission that required me (and is part of the main plot) to kill a bunch of cops who were trying to bust the guy I was protecting for selling dope.
You fight your way out of an apartment building killing swat on your way.
However, I see GTA as a morality play. The more illegal acts you do, the worse your life gets. Follow the story and get 1-2 stars, start running down innocents on your escape and watch it blow up to 3 or 4 stars, kill a few cops and watch them send out the military. In fact in the beginning of the game, your acts almost get you killed twice. If anything, GTA IV and GTA3:SA show how much a life of crime sucks. In fact you can't even drive drunk in GTA IV without a cop on your ass in under 10 seconds.
Can you tell me what actually makes you a terrorist?
From what I've read the US government can take anyone without any reason or cause at any time and hold them without charges or trial for as long as they like.
So I'd be careful about pissing off the US government.
My work laptop is encrypted. If I fly with it and they ask for the password I can not give it to them. I may know the password, but it is not my intellectual property to give. If they want the password they will have to contact my work and get it from them.
Of course for me, with the latest ubuntu. I had to do none of these things. My wireless works with the supplied drivers (I think I had to do one apt-get install)
What about the physical and mental withdrawls. Not to mention the body building up tolerance. I used to know someone who did heroin. He is dead now. He overdosed. He started small, didn't inject it, then started taking larger and larger injected does. He said he needed more to get high. Eventually he killed himself with it.
yet samba's dev page says this:
Important: In order to avoid any potential licensing issues we require that anyone who has signed the Microsoft CIFS Royalty Free Agreement not submit patches to Samba, nor base patches on the referenced specification. We require, too, that patches submitted to Samba not infringe on any known patents. Finally, as with all GPL work, the submitter should ensure that submitted patches do not conflict with any third-party copyright.
I had two customers of mine use dreamhost. Both times we tried to upload site changes only to get out of space messages. It appears the hard drives on those servers were full. It was fixed quickly, but still I was not impressed.
Except for we get articles like this one. Where people who do not want the super high end hardware are bitching that they are stuck with low end hardware. So I think the market is there indeed. Nobody wants to admit it.
It is ESPECIALLY there with the advent of bootcamp. I still have a windows partition for a few games that wont run in wine. Even if I go mac this is still going to be a requirement for me until consoles finally kill pc games or mac/linux gets mainstream game development. You simply can not play newer games at good resolutions with a ati 2400. My 8800 does a 'ok' job. I wouldn't imagine going below a 8600.
That's the biggest problem for me. Apple has no mid range products. They have either shit, or very high priced pro stuff. At least with their desktop models (imac, mini, and mac pro). Why not a midrange desktop?
What I want is something with a halfway usable video card (at least a nvidia 8600GT), a good monitor (preferably where I can use my very nice existing monitor), reasonable hard drive space (300 gigs plus at 7200rpm), 2 gigs of ram, and any level core duo processor. All this for a price around what a low end macbook pro costs.
I am just not into paying over $1000.00 for a computer that has the 3d support of my wifes 5 year old gaming machine. I am definatly not going to spend over 2500.00 on a computer just to get the same video card that is in my desktop today (nvidia 8800) so I can use OSX.
Think about this.
What incentive would there be to actually produce music. If this tax is out there, I can download all I want for 'free'. Because I'm paying for that right. Thus the record industry will only get money from me via that tax. They have no incentive to produce anything I actually like. No matter what they produce, or even if anyone listens to it, they get paid. The quality of music would degrade even further. Why would anyone with an internet connection buy music again?
Even if the music industry was not a private company (and not a public service), the fact remains that 99% of the music out there does no public service (unlike a transit system). In fact, if some "musicians" died in a fire, the world would be a better place. Unless you can explain to me the value of Lil John, the current generation of sound a like rock music, etc.
You want to fund music with my tax dollars? Fine. Lets fund real creative music. Not this crap the industry pumps out to disaffected youth.
You can do something very similar with netbeans and sqlite. In fact it is very easy to make a very access like system using that combo. I think sun even has tutorials on it.
In fact, I select software with heavy emphasis towards platform neutrality. I use windows at work, linux and windows at home, and I am hoping to get a macbook sometime this year (I'm going to give my wife my windows box and use the macbook in it's place). What I love best about the open source movement is that it is possible to find software I can use on all of my computers without changing how I do things. I have firefox for my browsing, thunderbird for my email (I wish I could use evolution on windows but the binary I find are very unstable), gimp for image editing, vim for coding/scripting, scribus for desktop publishing, pidgin for IM, open office for working with general office stuff (although I've started using google docs, I want to use gnumeric and abiword, but gnumeric is still unstable on windows imho), filezilla for ftp, vlc for most of my video playing needs, Eclipse (mostly at work, but on a linux workstation and my windows notebook), well you get the point by now.
I have come to terms with that at some points, I will have to use windows, some points I will have to use linux/solaris/novell/etc. We run a mixed environment at work, I have found it most efficient to run a mixed environment at home. I have a vista machine I use for gaming. It works great and has been rock solid. I have a linux machine I use for programing/general pc use. By selecting applications in this way, I can use whatever OS is best for the tasks at hand and still have a mostly the same work environment for common tasks. Sometimes there is valid reason to use windows, and sometimes there is valid reasons to use linux, sometimes you just don't have a choice (One of our vendors supports windows over cygwin or solaris, so guess what? We have solaris servers now).
You would think an offical post of "Let's not stoop to their level and DoS attack" would be enough. I see no reason to remove the posts. However, France is different and I'm not sure about what you are allowed to say legally.
I wonder how this differs from say making a post on my blog that encourages people to go to theaters and yell "fire"
Sorry if I was not clear. Apple is in many markets. They lost my business in one market when I decided to switch operation systems to one which they did not support. Then they gained business from me in another market when I decided to buy an ipod shuffle.
Now, I have decided to get a new player, one that could hold all my music. However, not due to any technical reasons, I will not choose apple because I do not want to support the actions listed in this article. So again, they have lost my business in another market.
I have also seriously considered moving to the apple platform and OSX. I have used it and I like what I see. However, I am not sure I want to be put under the control of people who make decisions like this. So I have decided against buying one. I actually purchased a iMac around Xmas time, but due to another article similar to this I canceled my order.
I personally bought a ton of music on itunes. Then I switched full time to linux. I used this project to strip drm so I could use my music on my computer. Finally, I needed a good music player for traveling, and I found the ipod shuffle to be in my price range and in a format I liked. So I bought one of those. I was thinking about getting a large iPod for storing all my music. Now I will reconsider. They already lost my business by not supporting the platform I now use, now they will lose my business from their tactics.
You would think, that with a shortage of food, you would stop reproducing so quickly. Then eventually, the food/person ratio would come back into check.

I have had zero problems with firebug and firefox 3 beta 5 on windows or linux.
The solution is to disable firebug by default and only enable it on sites where you need it.
Steven Segal still produces movies, constantly. Except now they all go straight to video.
Can you tell me what actually makes you a terrorist?

Besides, I was being sarcastic in my post.
Of course, you can refuse, and get sent to gitmo as a terrorist.
Why else would you have something to hide?

well, you know it is illegal to export some kind of software, maybe thats what their looking for...
yea, that's it!!
Of course for me, with the latest ubuntu. I had to do none of these things. My wireless works with the supplied drivers (I think I had to do one apt-get install)
If I was a DEA agent. i would love a site like that for my area. It would make it easier to find the 'criminals'.
What about the physical and mental withdrawls. Not to mention the body building up tolerance. I used to know someone who did heroin. He is dead now. He overdosed. I bet medical science can use the bodies and get their worth out of them to justify their costs of disposing of them in a furnace.
If not, maybe ballistics labs.
Or we could let die who do things they know are dangerous like some illegal drugs.

I will gladly work for my weight in gold per year.
I estimate that to be about 2.2 mil USD per year.
