  1. Three Letters SAP on IBM Ports Linux to S/390 · · Score: 1

Forget about the Mindcraft Benchmarks, take a look at Siemens SAP-R/3 application server. Linux outperforms all other OSs. That included all flavors of Unix.

For those of you that do not know, SAP is the most powerfull application system, ERP system availible today.

It runs on virtually any hardware, any OS and any Database.

Ever wonder what the Fortune 500 or for that matter fortune 5000(midsize) companys run for their end to end applications.SAP is it.

SAP on Linux will be a big. Right now SAP only supports RedHat6.0 on Intel (IBM, Campaq, HP and Siemens). If Compaq has any sence they will push SAP on Alpha/linux.

Why not offer better hardware to run your Enterprise than what IBM can buy from Intel? It makes perfect sence.

  2. Chinese Zodiac on I Want Names for my Servers! · · Score: 1

I use the Chinese Zodiac for my Cisco core routers.

We have Snake, Pig, Dog, Rat, Horse and Rabbit.

I don't think Cock will go over well when we get to 12th core router.

  3. This Rocks on Thumb Keyboard For PalmPilot · · Score: 1

In the past I used one of those Email pagers with the thumb keybourd, after a day you could type in the dark.

I would have to take two months of penmanship class for Graphiti to work for me.

  4. QNX Really Sucks!! on QNX partnering w/Phase 5 to make PowerPC computer · · Score: 1

We use QNX version 4 and 6 at work. It is solid -- does not crash, but really retarded when it comes to hardware.

Will not run on Celeron, AMD, Cyrix, Pentium III or Xeon!!!

Will not run on x/100 clocked Proccesors ( no 100s , 200s, 300s) usualy this means that you just need to jumper or switch the speed down.

Now I have seen the new demos and was really impressed... but not that much. Any browser with no java is prety pointless.
