Ugh, I didn't realize how weak their future plan is. This whole search thing is a total traffic-generating ploy. They don't even plan on keeping it after they go "live"...

    Check this out:
The Company has developed a substantial privacy-based information site with thousands of links to privacy issues, news, books and organizations. The company is constantly updating and improving this site and when it is ready for proper launch it will replace the existing search-based site as the home page and central focus of the web site in February, 2000. At such time, the existing search-based web site will be retired from service.

UNIX is really just a way of organizing an operating system, rather than an OS itself. The essential features of UNIX (user-process-shell-kernel architecture) will probably be in use as long as there is a command-line anywhere on the earth.

Since it's so much more versatile than an all-in-one GUI approach (like win9x but not really like the original NT architecture) it's unlikely to die out as a concept even if every single currently existing UNIX maker goes out of business.

It would not surprise me at all if you took a Go board, and thought of it as a B&W image and performed standard AI-like graphics analysis on it (edge-detection, boundary analysis, etc) you'd find someting interesting.

Thus, we do NOT promote anybody to anybody else, rather we provide an information service.
