At the very, very least (which this clearly is), this will make my COO feel better when this whole SCO idiocy crosses his radar screen and he asks about our recent move to RedHat. So it serves a very useful function for me, even if it is basically meaningless.
The argument about moving jobs to hold down costs holds a lot more relevance when companies are struggling; when companies are doing very well, that argument becomes a rationalization for naked greed.
I finally get some clear, unbiased information on which to hang my hat! I had a sneaking suspicion that I should have replaced all of the Solaris machines with Windows 2003 Server instead of RedHat AS. If only I had this information sooner...
Even if there is no connection between the two and you completely discount all of the conspiracy theory stuff, I would think that even the APPEARANCE of a connection would be enough to scare people away. Politics is perception, so why even allow the perception of one party having an undue influence over the voting systems? Whatever system is used should be beyond the possibility of reproach.
We recently moved all 100+ users in our company to Mozilla 1.4 (from IE; score one for the Rebellion). Most of our users are highly non-technical, and the overall repsonse to Mozilla has been very favorable. People really like the logo, and it seems to stick in their minds. Our major issues right now are getting the calendar to work properly and roaming profiles. If we could take care of those 2 things, we would have a basically problem-free product.
Tempting offer. I'll mull it over...
10, count 'em 10, 400 mHZ CPUs with 4GB RAM. It's a pretty big boy.
I have a ton of Sun servers sitting around doing nothing. This includes 1 E4500, several E450s and a number of smaller machines. Make me an offer!

Does anyone know if 4.2 allows the music store to work from behind a proxy that requires authentication?
