This issue isn't about protecting the people who read the blog from lies. Readers aren't the victims. The victim is the hospital. Stupid people are going to believe what they will believe, and for every potential hospital customer who reads libelous misinformation and goes elsewhere for medical treatment, the hospital loses business.
My point had nothing to do with whether or not Apple will brick unlocked iPhones, but whether or not Apple will STOP unlocked iPhones. Phil Schiller's comment seems to suggest that they aren't going to bother stopping hacked iPhones, but if an update breaks it, it breaks it. However, Steve's comment contradicts it, saying that they will go out to stop hacked iPhones.
Apple has already explicitly stated that they are not going to intentionally or proactively do anything to unlocked phones.
No, Apple has said that they are not going to intentionally or proactively do anything to people who write third party applications.
On the other hand, Apple has said that they are going to do what they can to stop unlockers.
Note: I am a huge Apple user; my music player is an iPod, my laptop is a MacBook, and I've stopped building custom PCs so I could buy Apple hardware.
The iPod is a great mp3 player, but the reason Apple continues to innovate (which it hardly has, except in the case of the iPhone) is not from the kindness of The Steve's heart. Apple does have competition: itself, and if Apple wants to keep selling iPods, it has to innovate against its last generation of players. Oh, and trust me, if we were still stuck in iPod generations of the past, such as before the photo/video support and color screen, there would have been a real "iPod Killer" already.
Apple has kept prices down and the MAFIAA at bay because its in their advantage if they do. They would prefer to sell a lot of cheap music and make less money per song than they would to sell expensive music, make a little money, pay off the MAFIAA, and then have their music store bomb because of the prices.
Apple in my opinion is a much better choice than Windows or Linux. I've been on Windows since 3.11, I switched to Mandrake Linux and Gentoo Linux for months, and I had used OS X for months. I eventually switched to OS X and I think OS X makes it worthwhile to stick around with Apple's little annoyances. Yes, Apple is expensive, but if you pay, it Just Works, and that's something I haven't seen anywhere else. But I'm not going to defend some of the shifty shit that they do to make us pay more or lock us in.
What, are you this guy's best friend? Come on, he was as rude as possible on the Ubuntu forums. He was the perfect example of what *not* to do when asking for help on a free support forum. This guy had 5 minutes of fame; people in communities I've been involved in were passing around the link to that thread and having a laugh at this guy because of how ridiculous he was being. This guy still posts about his experience because he's a troll (either that, or retarded).
Anyone who lived through the NES era will know that this is not true. The NES is second only to the PSONE in terms of the "If you build it, they will come" mentality. Suffice it to say it was all about making money. Wikipedia has a some good details you might be interested in reading. The "Nintendo Seal of Quality" didn't mean much about how good a game was (in terms of "fun"). All it meant was that Nintendo was paid their license fee.
Anyone who lived through the Atari era will know that every game on NES was gold compared to the amount of steaming shit that was put out for the 2600. Comparatively, the NES had great quality control.
You better be willing to homeschool your children, because private schools are not only guilty of the above, but also of having their heads so far up their asses at how cool they are for being private that they suffer from said problems tenfold.
There's a difference between creating a story that begins in medias res and taking one scene out of a story. Yes, taking the scene where Luke destroys the Death Star out of Star Wars and watching it on its own is a good scene even for people who haven't seen the rest of the movie, but it has no significance without having watched the rest of the movie.
But yes, for people who haven't read the Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner (me), that quote doesn't seem that significant. All it does is scream "you need to read the rest to really understand this."
Yes, a single will often make you want to hear the whole album, but that just proves my point, doesn't it?:P
Listen to Rubber Soul, Revolver, Sgt. Pepper's, or Abbey Road completely through--masterpieces of the album art form. The Beatles were pioneers of making the album a respectable medium; before them most bands were extremely singles-heavy. Stuff like the White Album, not so much, even though there are great songs on it.
Other than that, I agree with your post. A good album is an entire book, full of ups and downs and different emotions and feelings. A single is like taking the climax from a book and reading it on its own. Yeah, it's good, but it has no meaning or significance by itself.
I would love to see an Apple store here. Last time I went to the CompUSA in Metairie, which is an Apple Authorized Service Provider, to get service for my MacBook, they pushed me away and told me I'm better off just calling Apple. What's the point of being AASP if you're not going to do it?
An Apple Store would be great; I'd probably try to get a job there. Oh well...

This program is cross-platform and this build has Windows- and OSX-specific features. Why is this under Linux? Just because it's open source?
I always tried to avoid buying Sony products, but wouldn't restrict myself specifically from doing so, but after this, that's it. They destroyed one of my favorite gaming companies, bleem!, and now they've destroyed Lik-Sang. Screw them. I'm not buying another product by them.

Congratulations, you fell for the propaganda technique in which the propagandist tries to make you think that you are both alike.

Is there a version of Doom ported to this architecture?

No--Robert Palmer is dead.
He uses it to download Firefox every time he reinstalls Windows.
Sometimes people, sometimes large corporations with fat pockets.
Do you really think that if you polled everyone in America they'd vote that downloading copyrighted music off the internet should be illegal? Hell no.
