Bush sent our troops into a war based on lies, but of course could not be bothered to go to war himself. It is no coincidence that 'ALL' GWB records are missing from his Nat'l Guard duty.
WOW! Many aspects to this one. First of all, the reports of Saddams' weapons of mass destruction being false are of a current controversy (even though the Brits still hold the intelligence to be true), and the fact that over a dozen canisters of serine and mustard gas have been found, however many people on your side complain about the lack of guardianship of the tons of explosives being unguarded. Check the facts. And if you think I'm wrong...Please post post 'em to me.
Is it no coincidence that 'ALL' GWB records are missing from his Nat'l Guard duty.
There again you are wrong. PRESIDENT Bush has given PRESIDENTIAL order to release those documents (unlike Sen. Kerry who would have to sign form 180). Man..you must be listening to CBS.
By the way. What exactly is a 'Lying Hypocrite'? Are there 'Honest Hypocrites', or 'Lying Honest-sayers', if so...Anyway, I would accept PRESIDENT Bush as a 'Lying Hypocrit'(ie honest).
I have to agree somewhat with what irritating environme said. "...but consider what happened in the post-dot com boom, you NEEDED a CS degree." I currently work for one of the top three auto manufacturers in the U.S. I read job postings for in-plant engineering jobs. Some I have read require a B.A. (some simply require a 'Bachelors Degree'). So....I can major in Dance, or Art, or whatever, and be qualified for the job, but if I have an ME, EE, or any Science study I wouldn't be? I know, more than likely a B.S. would be every bit as adequate for the job, but it just goes to show you the mentality (or intelligence)of the people hiring.
If you blindly believe everything EITHER candidate says, stay home today. See, this is annoying. Close-minded people always assume that they are open-minded and have rationally come to their conclusions, so surely the other side is being blindly swayed by someone. Y'know what? If you think anyone would ever believe themselves to be a blind follower of either camp, you'd better take a good hard think about where you got that conclusion.
respectfully, I think you completely missed the point, and continued to draw your own conclusions. The statement mentioned IS completely correct. If you blindly believe everything EITHER candidate says, stay home today. He sad BLINDLY believe. And you are calling this statement into question? Yet you have not made any comprehensive argument even addressing this. Please read his post, or at least the snippet you refer to, before you respond.
Well said, but the people here won't listen to the facts. It seems to me, that for the most part, the forum here throws out all the same regurgitated crap as the DNC. I'd challenge any of them to show an intelligent basis for their reasoning, and have before, but it's the same 'ol same 'ol....(BUSH LIED, BUSH LIED...HE'S KILLING OUR CHILDREN....HE'S TAKING AWAY OUR SOCIAL SECURITY...BLAH, BLAH, BLAH)
Shouldn't we be policing the users instead of the ISPs?
I agree completely. Except that the 'we' should be the parents of the one(s) affected. Comparatively, television has the same effect (not as exploitive), but the same. I, as a father, have held these beliefs for some time. While not ever a believer in a baby-sitting T.V, and one who always made a point in watching with my child, I still found enough inappropriate material on network shows...that's where I came in (the parent) to stop it.
Consistency requires you to be as ignorant today as you were a year ago. -- Bernard Berenson
Nice quote...from an art critic. But when a person is running for a public office, it's usually a good idea to know where than stand on the issues. Here's an excerpt from cbsnews.com regarding his gay marriage issue-"Take gay marriage. In the past Kerry has tended to stake out relatively liberal terrain on the issue -- for example, he voted against the Defense of Marriage Act in 1996. This would seem to put him to the left of the average swing voter, a position that could be exploited by the Bush campaign. So how would Kerry insulate himself from this kind of attack? The only way that comes to mind is by moving rightward -- which Kerry did earlier this year when he hinted he might support an amendment to the Massachusetts constitution banning gay marriage. In one fell swoop Kerry transformed himself from a liberal on gay marriage to... a flip-flopper on gay marriage." Not exactley a quote, but the best I could come up with for now:)
Ah yes, the Long Nightmare of Peace and Prosperity! How were we able to function without the huge deficit? The rampant expansion of government spending?...
Yes, 'Peace and Prosperity' are the two biggest factors involved in a presidential election. I'm sure it was a difficult desciosion not to retaliate against the first world trade center bombing, or the attack on the US Cole. As far as the deficit...I believe that that was initiated by the Republican controlled house that forced Clinton to sign 7 of the 10 issues in the 'Contract with America' which included 'welfare reform' and deficit spending. Furthermore, months after Bush took office, he reduced government spending from 8% to 4% (still too much for me), but better than 8% nonetheless.
Corporate scandals;
Which Bush aided and abetted, at least in Enron's case.
You'll have to explain that one to me.
9/11.
...Of course, then he had to screw it up by invading Iraq, which as anyone who knows anything about the middle east knew from the moment it was proposed, had fuck-all to do with terrorism.
There was the 9/11 commision report that, in spite of liberal media coverage, specifically states that Iraq had ties to Al-Quiada (not 9/11 specifically).
Having the worst job creation record since Hoover is hardly something to crow about...
Sorry...all I have is 'Berry Blast' and grape flavored Kool-Aid. Fact: There are two survey conducted by the Bureau of Labor Statistics-The household survey and the payroll survey. What the household survey generally reflects is the backbone of american capitalism...self-employment. And during and economic downturn, the household survey is regarded as more accurate. So, I stand by my original statement the 3 million jobs have been created (or better put, the administration has put in place policies that enable economic growth in spite of all that has happened).
Indeed! Too bad it's "ever-growing" largely thanks to the incompetent, arrogant, and belligerant foreign policy of our current administration.
Your right...maybe if we leave the terrorists all alone they won't bother us.
I may disagree with Kerry on a few issues, but I think he'll be a fine president.
Let me know what issues you disagree with Kerry on and I'm quite sure I can find you a quote from him that supports it.
Your shortsightedness is you apparant failure to recognize the extent of the damage Bush and company will do, not just in America but all over the world, if given another four years.
Shortsightedness!? Can you explain to me what exactly Kerry has stood for in the last 19 years as Senator? It seems to me that his positions have come about rather suddenly (shortsightedness?) 'Bush and company' have endured many hardships regarding the nation: Economic consequences of the Clinton years; Corporate scandals; Hostages in China; 9/11. In spite of all this, they have created the opportunity for people to create the jobs (over 3 million new jobs and counting) to grow our economy. Not to mention taking the necessary steps to protect our citizens against the ever-growing threat of TERRORISM...remember?
And again, I continue to disagree with your views on third party choices. To me, I even see a non-vote as a vote. Meaning that it fine for someone to cast a vote as they see it, even if it is futile for the final outcome.
"interoperability?" Please explain your version of the term further. The original statement was valid as I see it, and still reflects most of the business sector of the server market. Don't get me wrong, I am not a M$ fan, and believe in the fsf. Just curious:)
right now we have an increase of 0.43 C in 10 years that means it will be about 43 C warmer in 1000 years
That comparison is like taking a one day snapshot on the stock market to calculate your retirement. I don't think any of us have enough relevant data to predict what will happen.

I agree! Kerry CAN cure people! A vote for him, and people will walk again! PRAISE BE TO THE PROPHET KERRY!

However, this whole Linux thing is still his.
I believe it is technically GNU/Linux
