but regarding snoopdog/henson. there's also the idea that it could degrade their IP... having muppets associated with snoopdog may not be what henson wants (nor may it be what snoop wants, think about it:) )
otherwise, you're totally right. there's certain cases where each side may be opposed to such things though... but, i could see a situation where, for fair use, if you use copyright stuff, you must use attribution, AND, state that you are doing this on your own - so it is very clear that it is some kind of "fan fiction"... or whatever...
fair use lets people experience new things, which in turn makes people more creative, which makes them create new things, which can be sold, which makes profit!
1.) download stuff and listen to it / sample it, etc.. 2.) make stuff 3.) profit!
>> It really makes the Series 3 look weak. >> Or put another way, it makes the Series 3 into the boutique device it really is.
WTF are they talking about? it's got 90GB less hard drive space, no glo remote, no THX, and no OLED. What about this $300 unit is better than the $700 series 3? they don't even qualify this?
is it the SATA? whee... who cares. you can hack the series 3 anyway. Maybe it's the price. $300 certainly is better...
>> Sure, it's pretty hard to set up an experiment to test evolution.
not with fruitflies it isn't... we have lots of proof of evolution. for real. just not the monkey/human 1million year experiment kind... missing links? yes, we have them.
>> OK. Skin cancer. The main source of vitamin D in humans is through exposure to sunlight. >> Increase that without being careful and your risk of skin cancer goes up.
talking out my ass here, but isn't skin cancer caused by damage from UV exposure?
Can you back up your claim that it is caused by Vitamin D? I haven't read any literature about this, so, I'm not saying you're wrong... I'm just always skeptical when no reputable literature has been quoted... and if you're right, I'd like to know more about it...
Are you saying that vitamin d causes cancer [instead of] or [in addition to] damage from UV?

and don't get me wrong... i'm not saying "you kind of need one" == creative cards no musician should be touching creative cards at all... noisy! it's like going to walmart to buy high end stereo equipment. you just don't do it.
so back to my question: people still buy sound cards? creative ones? really?
but as a gamer or consumer, why the hell would I need to buy a sound card these days? - Every motherboard I consider to buy, already has sound built in... - Games do their audio processing in software now.
why not just buy the parts? i mean, you don't have to buy windows when you just buy the motherboard... not trying to be a troll... i mean, it's not that hard to build your own. and any IT department should be able to build their own and save a ton of money for their company while at it. lots of local shops will build you a bare PC too.
yes, on 3.14.2007 from 8am to 8pm, lets all get on and download lots of terrents and youtube and,.... max out our providers, let them know we all need our bandwidth and shouldn't be canceled.
make robots without emotions - essentially machines, pistons, actuators, CPUs, etc... and WTF, who cares how much you use it, replace the parts as they wear out like any machine...
why would anyone install emotion into a worker robot anyway? and even if it had emotion, the only reason to "treat it right" is so they don't start the robot uprising against humanity. which is a good reason... but that begs the question, why give real human emotion to something you want to abuse? for menial labor, keep the emotions out, let it be purely a machine.
>>> The console is perfectly stable for those of us who take the time to clean up around the thing an don't stuff it into an air-tight hole somewhere.
you make it sound like the ones who've had a broken box are treating it poorly.
mine was in open air, dust free, cool room. power brick was also off the floor on little stilts and away from the xbox. the x360 just started to flake out with freezes in Burnout. Then it finally got the 3 red lights of death while playing Halo. The flake out happened over about 2 months. about 1 month after I received the xbox.
Nothing I did caused it. You just got lucky, or just happened to get a good batch.
People have been speculating the issues are because of bad solder joints from the recent switch in the electronics industry to move to lead free solder. No idea.
I'm not bashing M$. I'm just saying what happened.
not there's anything wrong with that. :)

there can still be a killer app, but it has come come from within apple.
I wouldn't put it past them to be capable of producing a good killer app.

yes... maybe.

but what's the energy efficiency ratio of these new cells?
they failed to mention that in either article...
are they hiding something? surely something like this wouldn't be forgotten, as it's pretty important...
of course... 1/10 th the cost is nothing if you need 10x more panels to get the same amount of energy.

this is a waste.
so... running in open air... 70 degs + ambient temp in the xb0x... maybe what 150 deg?
in a cabinet, what, raise the temp another 50 deg (F) ????
ok, but, PCBs, silicon, metal, even Solder, don't have problems with this small a temperature fluctuation...
People stop saying every is "ruining their xboxes" by putting them in cabinets or having bad airflow...
just cause it makes your skin feel uncomfortable doesn't mean the silicon/solder/PCB is "hurting" inside... they can withstand much higher temps...
