OS-X86 sounds good; OS-Xi would be good too. Then they could sell "iMacs" to run it. Oh yeah!

Most people here know to question the results of a single study. Science is too complicated and man's understanding of the human body is still at the stone knives and bearskins stage. From personal observation, if there are extra years, those extra years are spent with lower energy levels and dealing with (non-fatal) health issues. The brain is an organ; the most mentally active people I know are physically active as well.

US Individual income taxes provide much more than Corporate.

    2003:
    Individual income tax: $987,209 Million
    Corporation income tax: $194,146 Million

This is ignoring sales tax. Fact is, a lot of major corporations (*Major* corporations) pay less tax than I do.

The lack of a low cost commodity box does hurt sales of the high end machines.

People who begin with the cheaper commodity boxes will tend to stay with that operating system when/if they move up the line to the high end, and businesses also purchase mostly commodity boxes, but also buy a good number of high end machines.
