As somebody else pointed out elsewhere an intelligent being would not design something as complicated as a person, complexity is just not the sign of a well designed anything
That's a pretty silly argument. Apparent complexity is dependent on scale and perspective. Sure, from a human point of view a person may be considered incredibly complex. From a higher perspective though, a human may be an incredibly simple instrument for willful expression in a space-time universe. Outside of the limitations of being human, it may be a breathtakingly elegant solution to the problem of "intelligence in a space-time-energy environment."
An entire third of your life will be spent not doing or experiencing anything.
You don't dream?
Now think about the value of your time.... You are wired to spend about a third of that time unconscious.... What, then, would 33 extra years be worth?
You'd be better off realizing that this "unconscious" state is actually quite valuable and potentially under much more of your control than you suspect. All it takes is a quick suggestion to yourself that "I remember my dreams" before going to bed each night to start improving your dream recall. If you want to go an extra step, start practicing lucid dreaming. Seriously.
This idea that sleep is a useless state where you are completely unconscious is detrimental. Sleep can be a very active, creative endeavor if you choose to utilize it.
If it were me, I'd hold it until a bit closer to christmas. Wait for the anxious parents who thought they'd be able to get one in another shipment. I'm guessing the prices will rise again in the weeks leading up.
I agree. The other thing I don't understand is that all of the commercials show the Zune with a "Connecting..." screen. I've seen it about 5 times now and all it makes me think is that this thing takes forever to connect! Not how I want to spend my time. You would think they'd at least have one shot of "Transferring Song..." or somesuch.

We may end up with a population of zombies in a decade or two's time.
HAAHAHAHA!
What? You weren't joking? Look around you.
