Oh, like old "GhostIt!" utility; will need to find something more sophisticated for stop-motion... I'm thinking about something displaying few images with adjustable gamma levels / color palletes for each image, overlayed on top of one another (among them perhaps even vector representation of movement, generated previously); with some changes of intensity to show what moved, and easy zoom into that area.
Hm, with few decent modern toolkits that shouldn't even be too hard to do...
I guess most of the animals guilty of some "crime" would actually prefer jail (not much different to what already happens to many) instead of a typical fate of such "undesirables"...
...there's just a whole lot of them. Also how "bland" it is is the point, a benefit. Sometimes you just want to fill the background with good enough music / etc. while doing something else (I suspect also not wanting something great - not wanting to be hooked too much); with scheduled short news service every hour a nice bonus (also one you don't have to actively follow, but still be certain that important news will reach you)
the vast majority of the radio listeners don't listen to music. They hear music instead. There's a difference. They put the kids on the SUV, and drive them to school, and turn on the radio in the meantime. Or, they're stuck in traffic, pissed off, and need to listen to "easy" music to pass the time. Or, they're sitting on their sofa, reading a magazine, and have the radio ON as a background.
Very few people actually drive somewhere in order to turn on the radio and listen to music. Or sit on their sofa, closing their eyes, and listen to just music. Normal people instead, are so busy with their lives, their problems, the quick pace of this civilization, that simply don't have the time to discover new music. Listening to unknown kind of melodies, or new kinds of sub-genres altogether, takes them out of their comfort zone. Listening to something like Dan Deacon instead of Lady Gaga, for example, while the kids shout at each other at the back of the car, makes it difficult to level your head. Not only you have your problems, but you have this new 'annoying' music playing instead of the music (or kind of music) you already know so well.
Basically, commercial radio works as a kind of a depressant for the masses. At first, it feels like music is exactly the opposite: an excitement that is, but in reality, in the large scheme of things, as far as FM radio is concerned, it's nothing but one of the ways that helps you kept in check. No, this is not a conspiracy theory, it's just how things work. Listeners want it that way too.
You won't really notice an impact of FM part on battery life if you're not using it; and anyway, it's generally quite a bit more frugal with battery than, say, mp3 playback. Also, "go back"? Stop looking at the past through rose colored glasses - there was always a lot of shit on the radio.
That could matter if batteries weren't somewhat standardized (not custom made for specific phone, at least). And if the limiting thing for cellphone miniaturization nowaydays wasn't how big of a screen people want.
Really, it's fairly...nothing. Especially with SoC integrating it.
But it wasn't even about afterlife (I'm not exactly fixated on it after all; nvm how with the number of ideas about it in Judaism (including: "none", or "only for very few") you can't really say much about it anyway). It was just about what your mythology presents very clearly as things happening to those who are non-submissive, guilty of audacity, etc.
"Those parts were abandoned" is not good enough, doesn't justify persisting with the rest - you need to give a whole lot better reason why what was once undendiable wisdom, will, etc. of a deity is suddenly obsolete. And why only this part. Why it was so "wrong" (so, which of the ways of deity communication lies? The books or the world?), why essentially lying and deceiving (there's no other way with omniscience), why the mythology promotes also things which are very much evil.
Hm, though Android is currently essentially branched from the Linux, kernel, into its own tree; even with bits of unmaintaned contributions to the mainline deleted...
Yeah, we know it's still Linux for most practical purpose. But such perdiod of (basically) forking could be something to drag legal proceedings on for years, I guess... (in the meantime seeding doubt among manufacturers, etc.)
3. Wait for them to actually succeed, and invest time. money and creativity in creating something useful that's loosely similar to your half-baked idea that you patented
"Related" might convey things which didn't really take place...
But what about possible proxy wars of Microsoft? Some funding of SCO, apparently. Or sabotaging ISO standarization via small partners (OK, this one not exactly about patents; but showing modus operandi)
...from quite universal perspective, really. And showing likewise universal misunderstandings about the nature of conflict.
Films trying to find a reconciliation with the past that involves regime change could also, perhaps, fall into such category. Quite a lot of them, Untergang probably the most memorable recently. Black comedies (say, in the style of "Kukushka"; this one not know much of course) also, maybe.
So, how often did those veteran visits result in something...peculiar?;) (a buddy of mine recalls one when the vet...well...probably started to, partially, actually reenact the events; as far as his perceptions go)
If only those 10 million would always mean something to people...after all, your place does have neonazis (my place, also on the Eastern Front, has them too for that matter). Oh well, at least we have one more great mystery to ponder - "how can those people glorify Nazis?" (and who doesn't have some vets among ancestors?)
Not saying they need to have much in common with gamers; just that 10 million doesn't have to mean anything.
BTW, almost everything still omits one important detail of Eastern Front - Soviet Union wasn't exactly among Allies at the beginning; quite a bit the contrary, actually.
There was no outcry because of tin/toy soldiers or models of combat vehicles; and you can bet they were used for simple wargimes (which was also very close to "real" war - during the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries battle tactic was often planned with the help of miniature figures of soldiers)
It gets even better, you have no problems with a game where Russians are the enemy, despite the fact how they are, for some time now, not terribly far from allies; more or less. And for a long, long time not in direct conflict. Where's the rage @"cold war turned hot in the end" & "Russians end up no good after all now/in close future" works?
Hell, the last clear conflict with them was on their soil, partly invasion-style, somewhat to defy their self-determination (however messed up it also was), almost a century ago.
Hm, just slightly modify the story in one of MGS/etc. games. After all, "One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter" (and mujahideen were very much described as the latter in western media for a long time)
You look at the past through rose colored glasses. In the past there was even no real way to verify most of the news at all (which probably affects how "reliable" it felt). Solid reporting has never been so easily accessible as it is today (many prople of course don't care / ignore it, but it's there)
If only many spots weren't in some ways (and times of day) more dangerous to make photos now than when capturing the original... ;)

That way everyone could play for the "good guys". Everyone could fight for the cause they thought was right, which is usually how war works anyway.
What about "terrorist sympathizers"?
So, who's doing the right thing in Starcraft? ;p

Why do you hate their right to be successful?

Then you are another who doesn't get what this is about, what the stakes are.
Could what you describe work for some individuals? Sure. For enough of them so as to assure stable society? Hell no.
...I can point to educational systems around the world that don't resemble what we know as "school", yet are effective at educating.
And yet, for some reason you don't do it.
Yes and no. Such posters didn't last long... (and were actually quite far from truth at the start of ww2)

So, the presence of a reporter nearby, at all times, can't have even a tiny bit of influence on the conduit of given unit?...
Some would say "feeding" instead of "fighting"...
I can certainly see maintaining the way of life. Not sure if I can say the same about securing freedom...
