The melting of the caps is the obvious concern, but not the main concern. As the temperature of the water raises, the increase in energy increases the volume of the water - or decreases the density. Less dense water takes up more space which is the largest factor in the raising of the sea level.

I see a pattern in your post. Every time religion is shown to be wrong, they internalize the error and come up with a new story that fits the truth that their flocks believe. In answer to your question, 'How can any religion survive that revelation?' Just as long as their are sheep out there who dont want to think for themselves.

By your logic all the cell providers should merge into 1 mega company. That way we would always have service (except at my home where none of them work) and never roam. Then Vodafone could buy out the American provider so we could have the same benefits in Europe. After that, Asia........

"A technological attack that did even more economic damage may have been effective but part of what the terrorist wants is the graphic scenes on TV of bleeding civillians running from the blast and the sight of all that damage (the City of London bombing was dramatic)." A terrorist wants change. Change is accomplished by affecting a population. Blood and physical violence are not the only ways to terrorize a people. Remember Blaster and the rest of the fun we had this summer? Those caused great disruption to our society. Imagine the disruption to society if computer were actually turned into paper weights instead of just temporarily disabled like a virus does. Then real damage is being done and real costs inflicted on the target. After all, besided the families of those blown up by a bomb, who is really affected? Taking out a financial district affects the entire country.
