Almost every day I read about a department, agency, company or even country switching to linux. I rarely read about switching from linux back to windows. Where is this inconceivebly high implementation and training cost for linux that micosoft keeps whining about?
cross platform is the best way to go with game development? hah! maybe on consoles, but with the staggering price of game development now-days its almost too risky to do cross-platform development. companies porting games to apple only have moderate sucess, so how are they going to feel developing for an os unproven in game development with users who are used to getting everything for free?
(dont worry, i love linux, but i just dont think we should lie to ourselves)
if theres one thing a business model can achieve, its quick and streamlined development on something as critical as directx. gnu/linux desperately needs improvement in this area
I have mediacom cable, and I normally get 400k/s down to play with (but only a measily 15k/s up.
i'd rather pay what i pay now for these great speeds than half my speeds cut by 75% when everyone and their dog signs up and gets on my node.
Is it just me or is $4000 not very much money
