And i did lie about pirating in my previous post! ahem...
Not sure about the source of infection but as stated above, dates match.
Oh my god thats a huge list of files. i'll post a gist of the photoshop ones when complete so anyone can look for a suspect. If it will help i don't know.
But TY again!
I found out early this morning that i had the malware. Deleted the executable and the startup plist file. I had not updated my os in a few months. So I did that. I am now backing up vital files for a reinstall. Sigh. Right before Yosemite goes final. So installs, installs. Backups, backups. Etc.
I had a pirated a copy of photoshop cc 2014 from pirate bay. (yeah i am utterly broke and unemployed, and i had launched it only once to export one file to a specific format). And as far as i can see right now that is the only app that has the same'ish timestamp (in my apps folder) as the javaW binary from the lib/app support/javaW/ folder. In my case 31st of aug. So i have been compromised for about a month. I had the security settings set to Mac apps and identified developers only. So not completely opted out of the sandbox.
I am tech/dev savvy, but not hacker-good. Is there a command for terminal that can show me every binary that has been updated since that date? so i can see if i should kill processes whilst fixing my system? Could google it but thought why not ask the "nice people" at slashdot. I lurked here for years. Posted a few comments, got called a retard for my non-native drunken-english, and never posted again until now. If you wan't to make up for it. Help me out:)
I stopped reading the notes when they mentioned having a wood texture (to combat vista's glass and osx's metal) could be cool... I think i might wait a few more years before trying a linux distro.
I just checked that out. if i spotlight search for "Emil" (i.e my name) i get a ton of hits of me AND my wife's friend "Emilia" mixed in. But when searching for "Emil NOT Emilia" i only get hits on myself. Dont know if that was what you meant, but for me it was a nice addition.
You have alot of valid points that i agree with. And as for totaly abolishing patents. That's the part, i personaly wont get behind. I am a content creator myself so i think that copyright and patents should be upheld, but i think we need to throw some moderation and common sence into the mix. That is what this party might do if elected into office. Get focus on the problem, not fix it, not at first.
my 5 eurocents.
Cheers
For me, your example is both right and wrong. I don't disagree that a company should have some way to protect its edge over it's competition. However what most of us anti-patent people object to is that they patent generic stuff. Like if Motorola where to patent an input device based on a numerical keysystem ranging from 0 - 9. We see far to many of these generic patents slide by and be protected. This hurts both inovation and the economy in the long run.
As a swede i will vote on the pirateparty this coming election. Not because i agree with _everything_, but because in some topics a voice of opposition need to be heard and taken seriously.
Bork bork! /Emil
Site is down so i can't see what we're talking about here, but as an artist (painter) i have always broken it down like this:
Art is a form of expression.
If you make a pretty picture of a landscape, but only convay what you see, i'll call it for what it is, a craftmanship. Input = skill.
If you make a pretty picture of a landscape, through a combination of reality and your personal interpretation then it's an expression and it's art. Input = soul.
Since i haven't seen the site in question i won't comment if this is art.
Sorry for my bad english./Casa
I am a forigner (talking about the U.S.), and i just love the american constitution! What a great piece of paper!
But i downright hate the USA in its present form.
Yes i hate some americans.
Does this make me a terrorist?
I appeal to all american citizens to help stop this downwards spiral. let it go no further.
My democracy basicly follows yours down the "civil-liberties drain". And since i don't get to vote on this, maby you should!
Peace
Casa
re: Protocols and the rest of your first two bullet-points. I have no idea how this works / should work. So i don't have an opinion..
but your last point...
I know im going to come of as a troll here, accepting this flamebait.. but i don't care...
I am a reasonable and responsible adult and i will exorcise my right to express my views.
I am thinking that you forget that the majority of people on this planet doesn't answer to your goverment or falls under its "anti-terror infrastructure" protection. You say 6-800 american people dead per year because the U.S. goverment doesn't have insight into VoIP?
I then wonder how many swedish people it would protect if we let the U.S. monitor our phonelines. My guess is none. Why should "Homeland security" be alowed to listen in on my phonecalls you ask? There is no reason for it. Can you garantee me that this obvious power wouldn't be missused to listen in on the swedish calls?
I am all for democracy and freedom for all men and women to live in peace, but I wouldn't want american goverment listening in on my phonecalls no matter what. I'm swedish. I don't answer to Gerorge W.Bush and his obviously hypocratic people. I don't want the swedish security agencys to listen either, but i realy don't think the U.S. should police the internet. Lets form an international board for that one! Then i might be ok with insight into my phonecalls.
Peace/casa
You seriously freaked me out with that comment as i am watching independance day right now (dual monitors) and was at the scene where he uploads the virus.
Im betting "Tiger" will have this anti-alien feature built in;)
You should definately check jake 2.0 out when it airs on Sky. The storylines are a bit thin in some episodes, but most are good sci-fi with humor.
Enjoy the eps that got made for what they are not how many that exists:)

Thank you so much! :) Will test this now.

Although insightful, you annoy me. What are you? Cylon? Stop writing in variabels. Robots are annoying!
